Williannette Denise Shepperd

Williannette Denise Shepperd, affectionately known as “Peaches,” was born on December 30, 1965, in Williamsburg, Virginia, to the union of the late Fred and Estelle “Frances” Shepperd. She departed this life surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to family, faith, and friends. Peaches was a proud graduate of Highland Springs High School, Class of 1984. She remained deeply connected to her classmates and faithfully served as an active member of the HSHS Class of ’84 Reunion Committee. Her commitment to maintaining lifelong friendships was a true reflection of her loyal and loving spirit. A woman of strong faith, Peaches had been an active member of St. Paul’s Baptist Church since 1991. She served faithfully on the Children’s Church Ministry and the ISSA Usher Board, where she greeted and welcomed others with the same radiant smile and gracious spirit that defined her life. Her church was an important part of her foundation, and she found great joy in serving God and her church family. A passionate reader, Peaches found joy and peace in reading. She served as Treasurer of the Turn the Page Book Club, where her love for literature and fellowship flourished. Whether through thoughtful discussions or shared laughter, she valued the sisterhood the club provided. Peaches built a dedicated career in finance. She began her professional journey at Central Fidelity and later continued her career with Atlantic Union Bank, where she remained until she became ill. Throughout her career, she formed lasting bonds and gained an extended work family who loved and respected her deeply. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Fred and Estelle “Frances” Shepperd; her brothers, Phillip Spruell, Antonio Spruell, and Fredrick Shepperd; and her sister, Valerie Wallace. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted daughter, Erica Shepperd-Debnam; her loving sister, Gizelle Zeigler; her favorite brother-in-law, Leonard Zeigler; and her bonus mother, Etta “Faye” Shepperd. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces, Torri Johnson and Brittany Giles; her nephews, Tyrone Wallace, Teon Wallace, Fredrick Shepperd Jr., and Xavier Pearce; her great-niece, Valzhane Wallace; her great-nephews, Kevon Carter Khairi Coleman, and Nico Shepperd; her Great Aunt, Mary Johnson; her sister-cousins, Crystal Benning, Lisa Johnson, Lori Crewe, Niawasa Jackson, Vickie Rowe, Wanda Alfred, and Yhonna Minor; extended family members; dear friends; and her cherished lifelong best friends, Annette Turner, Karen Bogans, Rochelle Bland, and Willene Bellamy. She also leaves her beloved godchildren: TaKia Smith, Lauren Bellamy, Amber Bellamy, Trumaine Watson Jr., and Tahj Watson. Peaches’ family extends heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregivers, Gizelle “Gee Gee” Zeigler, Leonard Zeigler, and Brittany Giles, for their unwavering love and support. Peaches will be remembered for her radiant smile, her steadfast faith, her love of family, and the joy she brought into every room she entered. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
