Victor Alexander James

VIcTor aleXanDer JaMeS was born on July 09, 1948, son of the late Esler and Priscilla James, preceded in death by his oldest brother (Robert Christopher James 2004) and his youngest brother (Raymond James 2012). On July 24, 2014, his vacation was scheduled. He had his ticket to his new home, he packed his things, said his goodbyes and he "got on board" Amen!! He was raised with the Lord, and as a young boy, belonged to Christ's Temple Church under the leadership of the late (Rev. Mamie V. Johnson, Pastor). In 1996, he joined Mount Olivet Christian Church, Disciples of Christ under the leadership of the late (Rev. Dr. George W. Jones, Pastor) presently under the leadership of our beloved Pastor, Rev. Marcus D. Adams. His life has always been hand in hand with the Lord. Victor received his education here in Maryland attending schools No. #101 and Paul Laurence Dunbar. He graduated from Samuel Gompers General Vocation High School in 1966, as he continued his education later in his life, he earned his degree in plate making, stripping/offset printing from the Graphic Arts Institute of Greater Washington GCTU School, Washington, DC. Victor always worked at least 2 or more jobs at a time to provide for his family. He was raised with that value to put your "family first". Of the many jobs/employers he maintained, printing/lithography-lithograph was by far the trade he loved and perfected. Employed at A. Hoen & Co. Offset Printers 1966 to 1971, Allied Chemical Co. 1971 to 1975, Central Soya Canton Grain Elevator 1975 to 1977, returning to A. Hoen & Co. 1977 to 1982, Universal Litho 1982 to 1983, Maryland Chair Co. (La-Z-Boy) 1983 to 1986, American Can Co. 1984 to 1986, and National Litho 1986 to 1995. Amongst the many jobs and positions during, and in between to name a few were: Noxell (Hunt Valley) The Dub Center (Owings Mill) ALCS Title Search (Cockeysville) returning to Maryland Chair Co. 1995 to 2000. Victor finished his employment venture with the Howard County Public School System 2000 to 2010. Having to manage his health isses, he retired. The numerous friends Victor made wherever he went cannot be measured; he was loved and admired by so many and his passion for fishing, crabbing, traveling and family gatherings, is a legacy all its own for "Big Vic" as he was affectionately known. He leaves to cherish his life, jokes, laughter, knowledge, willing assistance, patience and "unconditional love" to: his son, Elliott E. Gibson (Thessie); his most precious granddaughter, Arielle K. Gibson; brothers, Dr. Earl James (Sydney), Clarence E. James (Alice) and Alfred W. James (Silveria); sisters, Minister Joyce A. Hall, Elder Miner James-Young, Arlene Garris (Louis), Elder Ruth James, Deaconess Mildred Bazemore (Jacob) and Adelphia Brooks (Tyrone); special nephew, Damon Alexander Garris Sr.; dear to his heart grand-nephews, Damon Alexander Garris Jr. and Damonté Alexander Garris; special mother, Marie James; aunts, Mary Sims, Idelphia Salley, Wilhelmenia Brown and Nancy James; a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family & friends.
