Valerie Veronica Gaskins

Valerie V. Gaskins, affectionately known as “Val”, the beloved daughter of Joseph and the late Vernell Gaskins was born on March 7, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on October 8, 009 after her big heart took its last beat.Valerie received her education at Carver Vocational Technical High School in Baltimore City. While at Carver she was involved in various groups to include the school softball team. It was there that she met one of her biggest fans and loves, Sherman Snell. Of, this unifications Sherman and Valerie later were blessed to have two beautiful children, Tora-Sherron and Shermaine. From high school she started her Managerial Career in retail. She then proceeded to become a Buyer and excelled to the top of her field.Valerie’s was trendsetter. She was the real definition of what we call a “Diva” today. She was also a music lover. She had a love like no other for Luther Vandross. She was also ultimate host of house parties that was out of this world. She was known for having two-day house parties, Christmas parties in August, and cookout gathering in the winter.In 1994 the doors of Calvary Baptist Church were open under the leadership of Pastor Leroy Robinson. This is when Valerie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was an active member of the church. For her God, Valerie served as Lead Usher, Volunteer, and was blessed and honored to serve on the Choir. During this time she also joined, Willie “Bill” Felder in holy matrimony.Valerie will now be reunite with her mother, Vernell Gaskins, Aunt, Gloria Jackson, two uncles, Delbert Jackson and Waymond Washington, a special close friend, Angela “Sissie” Bryant, and her beloved dogs, Special and Hammerhead.Valerie leaves to mourn: Husband, Willie (Bill) Felder, father, Joseph Gaskins, Step Mother, Josetta Gaskins, two daughters, Sherron and Shermaine, one son-in-law, Troy, one sister, Shelwyn, two brothers, Durant (Slim) ad Camillus (Bill), on brother-in-law, Marvin (Brooks), one sister-in-law, Lisa (Renea), four grandchildren, Kenneth (KJ), Jayda, Trey, and Corey, one uncle, Alphonso and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends..In addition to her family she leaves to mourn: Willie Pratt, Tijuana Clayton, Gilda Gaskins, and Melissa Felder.
