Valerie Rachel Holloway

Valerie R. Holloway was born on December 28,1961 in Bronx,New York to Reginald and Jane Holloway and was called home on July 26,2010. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother,Reginald Holloway,Jr. Valerie graduated from Radford University with a Bachelors degree in Science. She was employed as a Senior Claims Examiner by the Virginia Workers Compensation Commission of which she gave 14 years of her knowledge and skill. She worked with a wonderful group of individuals of which we've had the pleasure of meeting. She so lovingly fostered a one year old son in 2001 and with all the love that was shared,Valerie adopted him and named him,Markell Ryles Holloway. She was very much a loving person and has raised her son to know and feel the same. Her goal in life was to have many children to live in the home she purchased. Markell was the "chosen one". Valerie had a deep affection for children and people. She was loved and admired by all who knew her and was adored for her acts of kindness,sweet demeanor and loving conversation. She was a very caring,compassionate,and supportive person who loved having fun with her family. Her smile,her laughter and the love she had for her family was the backbone of her personality. Valerie was truly a blessing from God and generated rays of loving sunshine with her joyous spirit. Valerie enjoyed traveling and was able to go bungee jumping,visit Niagara Falls,the Grand Canyon,ride in a hot air balloon and attend Mardi Gras in New Orleans. She was a lover of literature and welcomed knowledge. Denzel Washington,Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson were just a few of the celebrities that she loved. She believed in Jesus Christ and was spiritual in her own way. She studied the Bible and often read the Book of Mark. God knew the love in her heart. We are so fortunate to have had her in our lives for so many years and we feel empty without her. Because of the wonderful love she shared,she will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts. Valerie leaves behind to cherish her memories a loving son,Markell Ryles Holloway ; a caring sister,Regina D. Holloway Green and brother-in-law,Mike A. Green;a host of wonderful cousins,Robin Holloway,Kim Holloway,Clarence Holloway,Dante Jones,Sr. and Dante Jones,Jr.,Tony Lewis and Cherly Lewis;aunts and uncles from both sides of the family who she adored;other relatives and friends.
