Tyrone Pinder

Born on November 5, 1950, in Baltimore City, Maryland, to the late Inez Pinder and John Thomas Jr., TYRONE PINDER lived a life marked by love, dedication, and an unmistakable presence. After a long and courageous battle with cancer, he transitioned peacefully on January 5, 2026. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and went on to build a remarkable career rooted in hard work and consistency. Tyrone began working for Maryland National Bank at the age of 19 and continued in his role after the company became Bank of America. He dedicated 45 years of service as a custodian and later became a supervisor in the Custodial Department, retiring in 2013. His work ethic, pride in his responsibilities, and commitment to excellence were evident to all who knew him. Known for his happy-go-lucky spirit, he truly never met a stranger. He was popular, well-known, and deeply loved—someone who knew everybody and was known by everyone. He took pride in his appearance and loved to dress up, always carrying himself with style and confidence. He loved to cook and clean, enjoyed a good party atmosphere, and could dance with the best of them. He found joy in simple pleasures—gardening, building things, tackling projects with his hands, and being the ultimate “Mr. Fix It.” If something needed repairing around the house, he was always the first call. He enjoyed his walks to the store to play his lottery, relaxing with a Colt 45, and indulging in his favorite pastimes—watching the Baltimore Ravens, old school wrestling, court shows, and classic Western movies. Above all, he cherished family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he never passed up a good meal. A man of faith, he was a believer in the Most High God and was always studying, learning, and pursuing greater understanding. His faith guided his life and shaped the wisdom he shared with others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Inez Pinder and John Thomas Jr.; son, Tyrone (Manny) Sr., Bertha (Daniel), Steven ‘Stevie’ Jr., Howard (Carol), Carol (Nennie), and Vincent Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Wanda Kim Pinder; children, Jacqueline Pinder-Purnell (Derrick), Kristie Pinder-McCant (Tyron), Jerome Pinder (Danelle), Kimberly Pinder and Tiffany Pinder; siblings, Ronald, Gwendolyn, Leroy and Reginald; sisters-in-law, Juanita and Sheila, 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; special friends, Jeanetta, Debbie, Leon and Mike; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends
