Toni A. Bailey

First of all my journey began on July 17, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland. My government name was Toni Angela Bailey. Every one called me Angie. My great grandfather named me Angel. He saw something in me! I was the second oldest of my siblings Terry, Lenny, Renee (deceased), Michele and Michael, Marie and Lenox (Mommy and daddy) had their hands full. Me and Terry have a sister who lives in South Carolina, Marcia Mack, who fondly calls us the Bailey Girls. I graduated from Western High School and then Welding School a few years later. I worked as a welder for 10 years at Bethlehem Steel and at BWI Airport for 10 years. At Johns Hopkins I worked for 5 years in Environmental Services. I had several favorite sayings: I don't lie, I embellish the truth; Trust and Believe; Precious, Precious, Precious; Bust you to the white meat; Wounded and appalled to the highest_____; and That's all I'm saying! television was one of my favorite past times. Oh how I enjoyed Murder She Wrote, the ID Channel, and Maury. My all time favorite movie was Cleopatra with Elizabeth Taylor. I named Al Roker the weather man, Walrus as I watched him faithfully everyday. For years and years my telephone companions, Terry and Michele, how we talked for hours everyday! We always wondered why we had so much to say, everyday! My brothers Lenny and Michael always, always held a special place in my heart, even with the nicknames they called me. I will miss being with all of you. Malcolm, my one third of Terry's husband, you will have to find another telephone buddy. Dolores, Michael's wife, I enjoyed the food you prepared for me. Dale, Lenny's wife, I know how much you truly loved me! Now the hard part, saying goodbye. I want to thank so many. My sister Michele who was my caregiver, I named her Nurse Ratchet. My brother Lenny and sister-in-law Dale who made sure I was safe and secure when I had to move in with them. My "children" Jerry, Aryiana, Andre' & Kennedi, you gave me so much joy. Carrie Morrisey and her children (LeeLee, OJ & Ricardo); Diana Brown and her children (Robin, Carla, Theresa, and Stephan). Tanya Armstrong a good friend and moral supporter. Neighbor Ms. Wanda McClary. Minister Alethia Lance who made sure I was saved! Bishop Michael Evans and Pastor Gwendolyn Brooks you know that you held a special place in my heart! Pastor Shirley Hill, my for real pastor! Aunt Lillian, Irene guess we'll have to play cards another time. Last but not least, the neighbors on Delano Court. Carol Coleman and Vanette Thompson, thank you for being my long time friends. To my aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends thank you for being a part of my story. Trust and Believe we shall see each other again! That's all I'm saying!
