Suzanne Marsha Tucker

Life Reflection Our beloved Suzanne Marsha Tucker, 38 years old, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014, after a life filled with endless laughter and love. She was born in Annatto Bay St. Mary, Jamaica West Indies on October 13, 1975 to Verley Gohagen and Arthur Bhagwandat. She was preceded in death by the grandparents whom she loved very much. She accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Susanne received her formal education from Brooklyn Technical School in New York and graduated from Hermitage High School in Henrico, County, Virginia. She furthered her education at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, Averrett University and received her MPA at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. She met her best friend and the love of her life, Danon Tucker in high school and married him in Jamaica on August 5, 1999. Their union was blessed with two children. Suzanne’s passion was helping others which she demonstrated in her professional career in Human Resources and Management. She began her career at an early age at Food Lion, progressing in responsibility as Personnel Manager until she became a Store Manager. Suzanne moved on to Walmart as Director of Personnel. From there she moved to Consolidated Bank as Human Resource Director. She later held several positions in Human Resource for the City of Richmond. Her last position being Chief Operating Officer responsible for employee benefits. Suzanne enjoyed working with crafts, interior decorating and was most proud of preparing her native Jamaican dishes for her friends and family. Suzanne was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and daughter; a loving and giving person of faith. She dedicated herself to making a warm and loving home for her family and friends. She cared deeply for her family, friends and all of her loved ones. Suzanne was the light of her family and was a true reflection of God’s love. She was always willing to listen, encourage, and help others in need. She had a daring, feisty spirit and was a life-long learner, quick-witted and curious about any new and challenging endeavors. She will be remembered for her spontaneity, sense of humor, nurturing gentleness, kind and generous spirit, and her impeccable signature style. She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband, Danon Tucker; 2 sons, Jarrod and Jayden Tucker; mother Verley Gohagen; father, Arthur Bhagwandat; 3 brothers, Gregory Harvey, Steven and Shawn Bhagwandat; 4 sisters, Morgan Gohagen, Sasha Bhagwandat, Althea Bennett and Leisa Vassell, a host of many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including five life-long sister friends.
