Ronald M. Johnson

Ronald Mario Johnson, the second of four children, was born to Sylvia Edna and Thomas Hugh Johnson on June 17, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was also lovingly raised by his stepfather, James Milton Johnson. All three preceded him in death. Ronald was called to eternal rest on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Ronald, affectionately known as “Ron” or “Ronnie,” was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country for four years. Ron worked as a Senior Carpenter at Display Craft Manufacturing Co. for over 30 years, retiring in 2010. Even after retirement, he maintained strong bonds with several of his coworkers. Ron accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at Fountain Baptist Church. There, he was nurtured in Christian education through Sunday School and various ministries. His faith remained strong throughout his life, and he firmly believed in God as his Savior. In 2020, Ron married the love of his life, Paulette Beasley. Their union was one of deep affection, mutual respect, and devotion. Paulette lovingly cared for Ron until the Lord called him home. Together, they created many cherished memories. Ron adored his wife and consistently showed his love through both words and actions. Family was everything to Ron. He had a warm smile and a generous heart, always asking, “Do you need anything?” He loved spending time with his family and friends, reminiscing about the good old days and listening to “Oldies but Goodies.” He was always willing to support others and was someone you could count on. An avid reader, Ron especially enjoyed novels and frequently shared and compared books with his sisters, Van and Sheila. Ron’s beautiful life will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Paulette, and his sons, Tavon and Adrian Johnson. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Dalen and Tavon Jr.; his brother Michael Johnson; his sisters Evangeline Purnell, Sheila Gasque (who preceded him in death), and Cleo Williams; his sister-in-law Debra Beasley-Day; brothers-in-law Paul, Timothy, and Daniel Beasley. Also cherishing his memory are his nieces Ingrid Cox (Kevin) and Tia Gasque; nephews Richard Purnell (Darlene), Travis Gasque (Natalie), and Michael Johnson; great-nieces DuBray Jones (Michael), Kaylin Cox, MacKenzie Jones, and Micha Jones; great-nephews Xavier Gasque and Michael Jones Jr.; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.
