Roger R. Sewell

Roger Rayboy Sewell was born on January 27, 1942 to the late Rose Handy and Charles Sewell. Surrounded by family and friends, he gained his wings on January 11, 2020. Roger was raised and educated on the Eastern Shore in Easton, MD. He had three siblings. Charles, Roslyn and Stanley, all of whom proceeded him in death. Later the family moved to Baltimore, where he worked as a truck driver for many years. Eventually, he did maintenance for an apartment complex, as he was a Jack of all trades and would fix anything. Roger had four children, Renay, Ray, Victoria and Linda (proceeded him in death). In addition, he raised eight more children as his own. He loved his family and was a great father, grandfather, and friend to many. In 1990, he reconnected with the love of his life, Oria. He had a crush on her for many years and finally had his chance. They stayed together from that day on and were married on December 31, 1994. He was a founding member of Love Crowd Christian Light Church, where he was ordained as a deacon. He served as the church custodian and was a dedicated member until his health began to fail. Roger loved his church and his pastors. Most people would refer to him as soft-spoken until he grabbed the microphone to sing. It was a joy to hear his vocal range on Sunday mornings. Deacon Roger was always dressed to impress with a fly suit and Fedora hat. Though singing was his passion. Roger could dance and play the guitar, too. He enjoyed all genres of music. As a car enthusiast, he always kept a sparking ride. He took pride in adding accessories and lights to his vehicles. Actually, he put his own flavour on everything he touched. Roger was a noble man, but most of all, he was one of a kind. Roger leaves, to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Oria. 1 son, Ray, 2 daughters, Renay and Victoria. 10 blended children, Tara and Warren Scott, Larry, Brenda, Frances, Purnell, Valeria, David, William and Donnie Seaberry, a devoted spiritual daughter, Silvia Mosby, sister-in-law Beverly Corporal (Randolph), best friend/cousin Harry Stanford an a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
