Reginald L. Wilmore

Reginald L. Wilmore, affectionately known as “Reggie”, son of the late Newell and Ada Wilmore, was born on June 29, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the youngest son born of five children. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Ruth Taylor and Doris Hill. He transitioned into eternal peace on July 2, 2012. Reggie received his education in the Public Schools of Baltimore, Maryland. In 1953 he honorably served in the United States Marine Corp. Reggie had a passion for work. His dedication and commitment to hard work led him to numerous jobs. He worked for twenty plus years at American Smelting Company in Baltimore, Maryland. He also worked at Maryland Environmental Service in Annapolis, Maryland where he later retired as a Commercial Driver in 2007. He met the love of his life, Lillie Daniels in 1958 and they were later united in holy matrimony on July 24, 1960. From this union came a daughter, Lizetta Wilmore. On September 18, 2010, Reggie and Lillie celebrated Fifty Golden inseparable years of marital bliss. Reggie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He always encouraged his grandson, Rayshaun to acknowledge God first and to strive for excellence in life. During his youthful years, he was nurtured at an early age at the Christ Methodist Church, Baltimore, Maryland. On June 22, 1960, he dedicated himself to the Christian Community Church of God where he served diligently for many years as Secretary of the Brotherhood chorus formerly known as the Male Chorus. He always inspired the young adults in church and encouraged them to have never ending faith in God. Reggie had a quiet spirit for his love for God and he held onto the strength of God to the very end. Throughout his life, he was a talented and creative craftsman which is evident in the beauty of his home. He enjoyed hobbies such as remodeling, landscaping, brick laying and painting. Reggie’s love for Jazz Music exemplified his unique sense of style, tailored made suits and multi colored suede shoes. Although Reggie will be sorrowfully missed by his family and friends, we thank God for the many lives he touched. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife of fifty-two years, Lillie Wilmore; loving daughter, Lizetta Wilmore (Raye); his scholarly grandson, Rayshun Pettit; two sisters, Catherine Williams and Alice Pridgen; one brother, Newell Wilmore, Jr., nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends
