Patricia M. Eppes-Ward

Patricia Mae Eppes-Ward. Affectionately known as “Pat” was born to the late Herman Eppes Sr. Mae Ella Eppes on November 27, 1951. Pat went home to be with the Lord. On April 13, 2023 Patricia was preceded in death by her parents. Mr. Herman Eppes Sr., and Mrs. Mae Ella Eppes, five brothers, Christopher Eppes, Herman Eppes, Ernest Eppes, Randy Eppes, and Jerome Eppes, five brother-in-laws, David Howard, Elmer Smith, Eugene Henson, James Reed, and John McCargo, four sisters, Bernice Howard, Joyce Henson, Joann Smith. and Stephanie Eppes, and sisters-in-law Jacqueline Eppes, Joan Eppes, Alethea Eppes, Shirley Eppes, and Bridgette Eppes, She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Billy Ray Ward; four step -children, Lloyd, Charmaine, Charlene, and William; two brothers, Osby Eppes, and Stanley Eppes; two sisters, Hermione Booker, and Gloria Reed; one brother-in-law, Samuel Booker; eight sisters-in-laws Patricia Ferguson-Eppes, Verona Flythe, Sandra Thornton (Alfred), Marilyn Gordon, Earline Ward, Sarah Thornton, Karenn Eppes, Lynell Eppes, and Tiffany Ward; a host of nieces and nephews, family, good friends, and her favorite fur baby Khloe. Pat was extremely intelligent young lady. Education was her first love. She was very sharp, and always excelled in educational studies. Pat graduated from Eastern High School at age 17 because of her ability to consistently excel in education. After graduating high school, Patricia decided to continue her educational journey. Pat worked hard and earned a bachelor’s degree, and two master’s degrees. Throughout her journey, Pat attended Johns Hopkins. Towson State, and Virginia Commonwealth University. Pat’s passion for education, and her love for Towson State University inspired in her to go back to Towson and become an instructor teaching English 101 and 102. Pat later advanced her career, and devoted many years of service to Akin and Gump Law firm in Washington DC, working as a paralegal. Pat enjoy working with her colleagues to help win court cases. If her family and friends had a legal matter to be resolved, she was always the person willing help, Pat also spent some time working for the US Government. When younger, Pat loved to party and a have a good time. She had a love for music and dancing, and spending time outdoors. She loved going to parks, traveling, road trips, and camping, Pat had a passion for appliances. Her hobbies were sewing, baking, and canning. She canned everything from milk and butter, to pulled pork and veggies. When younger, she would often take her nieces and nephews to holiday parties, camping , and on many road trips. She gave many nieces and nephews their first experience “behind the wheel”. Each trip was definitely an educational experience. Pat’s favorite holiday was Christmas during the holidays she most enjoyed listening to Christmas music and being in the company of family.
