Nancy Irene Turner

Nancy Hampton Turner, 82, of Highland Springs, formerly of Charles City, peacefully went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2026. She was born on December 23, 1943, to the late Lindsay L. Hampton and Julia M. Hampton. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean R. Adkins; her brothers, Richard L. Hampton and Herman A. Hampton; and her beloved grandson, Willie A. May, Jr. She was educated in Charles City, Virginia, Bronx, New York, and the Richmond School System. At an early age, she joined Little Elam Baptist Church, where she faithfully served in the Clothes Closet Ministry. She remained a devoted and active member until her health began to decline. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her service and love for others. Nancy dedicated 28 years of diligent service as a machine operator at Nabisco. She took pride in her work and the relationships she built throughout her career. After retirement, she devoted herself to the things she cherished most—her family. She loved traveling, cooking delicious meals, shopping for those she loved, and gathering everyone together for cookouts and holiday celebrations. Her home was always open, filled with warmth, laughter, and the aroma of food prepared with love. She was generous, loving, and uniquely herself. Nancy had a giving spirit and was always ready to assist family members in times of need. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, and her legacy of kindness and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her three loving children: Wanda T. May (Willie), Landon C. Turner, Jr. (Charlotte K.), and Samuel A. Turner (Charlotte D.); three adored grandchildren: Sameia Turner, Warren May, and Landon Anderson; five treasured great-grandchildren: Cameron May, Keshaun Anderson, Layaun Anderson, Mila Anderson, and Sameir Barbour; six caring sisters: Dora Bowman, Molly Charity, Bettie Gresham, Joan Cotman (Richard), Pearl Greene (MacArthur), and Julia Dickerson (Wesley); one devoted niece, Taressa Lee; two great-nieces, Taylor and Justice Lee; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends. Though she has entered eternal rest, the love Nancy shared and the memories she created will continue to live on in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
