Merillyn J. Wyche

Merillyn Joyce Wyche, affectionately known as "Muggy" to most and “Dee” to some, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 82. Born and raised in Baltimore, Merillyn was the daughter of the late James E Robinson and late Mary E. Tate Robinson. A proud product of the Baltimore City Public School system, she dedicated her professional life to the service of other. Whether she was providing compassionate care as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant or multitasking as a Secretary and School Bus Driver for S&S Transportation, she approached her work with a reliability and kindness that defined her character. Those who knew "Muggy" knew a woman of warmth and strength. Her home was often filled with the soulful sounds of Quartet Music and the comforting aroma of her cooking, as she took great joy in preparing meals for those she loved. In her quiet moments, she found peace in the challenge of puzzles and crosswords and possessed the steady hands and heart required for beautiful crocheting. At the center of Merillyn's life was her unwavering faith and her deep love for her family. She walked through life with a spiritual grace that guided her actions and anchored her soul. As a mother and grandmother, she was the heartbeat of her home—a steady source of wisdom, protection, and unconditional love. Her legacy lives on in the lessons she taught and the generations she nurtured with great pride. To know her was to be cared for by her. Described by her children as "very caring, very loving, and kind-hearted". Merillyn's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, a faith well-kept, and a family well-loved. Merillyn was preceded in death by her father James Robinson, mother Mary Tate Robinson, companion Jonathan "Bishop" Pearce, sister Joanne Terry Malone, and her great-grandson Kobe Nyche. She leaves to cherish her memory; four children Michael (Stacey), Beverly, Karl and Charlene; nine grandchildren D'Andre, Ashley (Troy), Brittney, Michelle (Diantrey), Brandon, leshea (Sharrell), Nichole, Christian, and Tayshawn; six great-grandchildren Josiah, Jeremiah, Silas, Arlo, Summer, and Chrome; one brother Anthony (Donna); three sisters Laverne, Deborah, and Lynette; three foster children Riehard, Constance, and Rochelle; one god-daughter Antionette cherished friends Mr. Ron, Arthur, Pastor Sampson, Sister Cook, Dia'Monique, and Pushia, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
