Maxine L. Venable

Maxine L. Venable, daughter of the late james William and Lula McGowan, was born on April 2, 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on March 26, 2013 after a short term illness. Maxine received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System she seved as a dedicated Volunteer at the Department of Social Services for 33 yrs. She took pride in her work up until the end. She enjoyed spending time with her co-workers and loved her supervisiors Ms. Hazel Williams. In the early 80's, she gave her life to Christ and accepted him as her Lord and Savior. Maxine was baptized at First Apostolic Faith Church. Maxine loved life and she lived it to the fullest. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grand's. She enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners and getting everyone together. Holidays were very important to her. She was known for her fried chicken. Her smile and dimples would light up a room. Those that knew her, knows that she loved cold Pepsi, even in her sickness she was still asking for them. Maxine lived life that brought her so much joy. She loved shopping at the thrift store, playing her numbers and visiting her many friends. Her favorite movie was Cooley high. She never held grudge towards others and she will be truly missed because she made a lasting impact on the many lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her four brothers William, Jimmy , Joseph, and Charles McGowan; one brother-in-law Henry Wilson; two sisters-in-law Adele McGowan and Mary McGowan; a special cousin Geneva Evans; a special friend Mr. Skeeter. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughters, Leaverne White and Denyel Jones; son Andre Venable, Jr. son in law Kevin White; a devoted daughter Becky Reynolds Nelson; her grandchildren Sierra Butler, Myketa Smith, Erika Johnson, Bernard Gibson, Danyel Loving, Kerrell Gibson, Andre Venable III, Kennedy Joyner, Kenard Joyner, Dontrez :Keyon” Venable, Dionte Venable, future granddaughter Holley; great grandsons Alexander Garner and Amauri Garner; great granddaughter Alaysia Smith; brother Haywood McGowan; sisters Mattie McGowan,Catherine Holmes, and Llillian Wilson; brother-in-law Carroll Holmes, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, devoted family and friends Thomasine Hailey, Joyce Goodwin, Shirley, Doreen “baba” Jenkins, Tyrone Powell Emily Veale, Miya Holley; a host of friends
