Mary A. Parker

MARY AGNES PARKER, affectionately known as “Doris Kelly”' departed this life on Monday, April 30, 2018. She was born on April 16, 1928, as Mary Agnes Kelly in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Levi and Isabelle Woods Kelly of White Stone, Virginia. She was the last of four siblings, Wilbert Kelly, Vernon Kelly, William Kelly and Joseph Bernard Kelly. She attend Saint Peter Claver Catholic School and went on to earn her certificate of completion from the Cortez Peters Business School in 1962. After school she met the late Harold T. Parker at the well known Baltimore Coliseum skating rink in west Baltimore. Mary and Harold were married for 55 years. From that union of marriage they raised four children Gloria I. “Kelly” Ross, Betty A. Parker, Carolyn L. Arthur (deceased) and Harold T. Parker, Jr. Mary started her work career at University of Maryland Hospital in 1955, where she was employed for 31 years as a medial technician. Mary “Doris” loved to entertain. She loved playing “Pokeno”, watching football, and her soap opera shows, and rooting for her favorite team, the Baltimore Ravens. Every year without hesitation she celebrated Preakness Day at her home in Gwynn Oak, Maryland. She would kick off every Memorial Day with a cookout featuring steamed Maryland blue crabs and her husband's fire-breathing hot chili. Mary was a devout Catholic all of her life, and a member of the New All Saints Catholic Church for over 50 years where she worked and volunteered. Mary believed in the traditions of the Catholic Church and she made sure that all of her children were raised in that tradition to enhance their faith in Catholic Church. She celebrated life to the fullest with her jovial laugh and candor until the very end. She left no stone unturned. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 91. She leaves to mourn: daughters, Gloria Kelly Hill-Ross and her husband Leonard W. Ross, Jr. her son-in-law, and Robert Arthur son-in-law, Betty A. Parker, and Harold T. Parker. and his wife, Karen Parker; grandkids, Officer Charles Hill, United States Navy, Kelly Mischelle Talley and her husband Andrew Talley, N'Kelle Arthur (deceased) and her husband Davon Liles, Robert Arthur Jr. and Steven Arthur; great-grandkids, Joseph Thomas Parker III of Folorida, Aidan Matthew Talley, and Averie Michelle Talley, Taylin Marshall and Dasia Liles, Natasha Baiden, Samantha, Nya, and Sanai Arthur; and a host of other relatives and friends.
