Marvin Delano Blake

Marvin Delano Blake,42,a "God fearing Man" was born May 15, 1966 to the late Woodrow and Mary Blake in King William County,Virginia.He entered into the arms of our heavenly Father who created heaven and earth on February 3, 2009.He was preceded in death by his grandfather,Thomas C. Roane,Jr.,aunt and uncle,Ruth and Nathaniel Howell;sister,Audrey Collins. A graduate of King William County High School,he furthered his education at Virginia State University,earning a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies.Marvin acepted Christ at an early age. He was a pround member and devoted worshiper of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. His passion for the Lord lead him to become Assistant Clerk. Marvin also sung on the C.A. Johnson Choir,served as an usher and Superintendent of Sunday School for about 20 years. He diligently served in any capacity he could in churches throughtout the county. Frequently,he was requested by churches to serve as worship leader or speaker. Recently,he did a reading at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church at their Virginia Union University program.Employed many years by Richmond Express,Marvin enjoyed his job driving as a courier and meeting different people daily. He was well known throughout the Richmond Tri-city area as "The Man". Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family and friends,each of whom he shared a special bond. Marvin was a man that loved to know about you and stayed informed by making sure he read the paper daily.He was a very friendly person and befriended many. One magnificent quality he processed was his humble spirit-Marvin never complained about life or what what it held.The lessons and morals he taught his family,which he lived day-to-day,will forever be a goal his family strives to reach. Marvin's memories will be dear to the hearts of his loving family;Alvin Roane and Robin G.
