Marian D. Garrison

Marian Delores Garrison slipped away into peaceful rest on June 1, 2026. Marian was born to her late parents Ernst Alston and Pearl Garrison. She was the eldest girl of fifteen children. Marian was raised by her mother Pearl and her husband Robert Garrison, Sr. As an adult, Marian officially changed her name to Garrison. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Theodore, Robert, Jr., William, Nathaniel, Marvin, Donnie, Pearl, Claude, Deborah, Joyce and Linda. Marian attended Douglas Senior High School in Baltimore City. She worked multiple jobs; School Cafeteria Aide, Wilson's Restaurant and Thompson's Restaurant, before being trained at The Rosewood Center in Owings Mills. Where she worked as a nurse with mental and physically disabled individuals for 32 years and became friends with Wanda, Charles and others. Being one of the oldest children, Marian helped support her large family by providing meals and finances. Marian made many friends but was very close with her cousin, Walter Young and often depended on him to help her. She and her brother Butch would argue all the time but they were always there for each other. She was an avid sports fan of basketball, football and baseball, with the Ravens and Orioles being her favorite teams. Marian lived most her life with her sister Pearl and was heart-broken when Pearl passed away in May 2026. Marian had one son, Robert L. Waith, whom she loved with all her heart. Robert went missing in 1977 but she gained peace knowing he was coming home to be placed to rest. Aunt Boob, as her nieces and nephews called her, enjoyed the music of Ronald Isley and Al Green. She was really fond of her nephews, Michael, Tyrone, Dominique and Tiyon. Some of the nieces made it into her heart too, Sharon, Michelle, Paulette, Tara, Taniya and Tristan. Marian leaves to cherish her memory one aunt, Velma Green (Va) and sisters, Barbara McKeiver, Beverly Nedd and Brenda Jones. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Robert Lee Waith, Jr. Robert Lee Waith, on or about November 21, 1979, life was cut short, leaving his mother and family broken-hearted. Robert was born on October 20, 1956 to his late parents, Marian D. Garrison and Robert Lee Waith, Sr. Robert was unable to hear and speak. He did not let his disabilities stop him. He graduated from the William S. Baer School in Baltimore City. When he completed school, he was able to sign language, read lips and speak some words. Robert loved the music and movies of Elvis Presley and would race his cousins to the television to be able to watch his favorite movies. He had many friends, including Tyrone and John. Robert was kind and would help anyone. Although, he never married, he loved women, especially if they had long hair. Robert was raised with many aunts and uncles and often called his aunts, Pearl and Barbara, "Ma." As the only child of Marian, she made sure he had all that he needed. Robert enjoyed dressing well and having fun. Robert went missing in 1977, the family never stopped their search for him. It wasn't until the family was contacted in 2025 were the remains found in 1979 identified as Robert Lee Waith, Jr. We are grateful to bring him to his final place of rest. Robert's mother Marian D. Garrison passed days before he was to be placed to rest, he was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Waith, sr.; his uncles, Theodore, Robert, William, Nathaniel, Marvin, Donnie and Claude. His aunts, Pearl, Deborah, Joyce and Linda. He leaves to mourn one, great-aunt, Velma Green (VA); aunts, Barbara McKeiver, Beverly Need and Brenda Jones. His many cousins, other family members and friends.
