Louise Lamerle Sanders

Louise Lamerle Sanders. Beloved daughter of Louise Grant and the late Walker Grant was born on February 3rd, 1943 in Anniston, Alabama. She departed this life at the age of 69 on February 19th, 2012 at home in Baltimore, Maryland from a lengthy illness. Louise spent her years in Anniston, Alabama and was educated through their elementary and secondary education systems. She later moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she received her GED and later received her Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice as well as her Masters of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Coppin State University. In her later years, Louise went back to school and received her Paralegal Certificate from the Community College of Baltimore County. Louise had her first born the late George Emanuel Carter who died at birth. She gave birth to her oldest son Thomas Lee Carter. In 1961 she married the late Robert Lee Saunders, and out of that union they had seven children: Robert Lee Sanders Jr., Adraine Renee Harris, Shelia Regina Sanders, Carol Vanessa Price, Carl Vincent Sanders, David Sanders, and Craig Jerome Sanders. Louise was a very well rounded person and held numerous job positions throughout her life. She was a substitute teacher for the Baltimore City Public School system. She worked as a driving instructor in Baltimore. Louise also worked as a Harbor Tunnel Police Officer. She was employed by the State of Maryland as a correctional officer. Louise later became employed by the Maryland Transit Administration and retired as a transit operator after serving a number of years. In her later years, Louise also was employed by Howard County transit as a transit operator. Among many hobbies and pastimes, Louise enjoyed a number of things. She was an honorary member of Peter’s Rock Holiness Church in Anniston, as well as an honorary member of the Church of Deliverance in Baltimore. She was a master seamstress who loved to sew and crochet. She created many clothes, garments, and one of her favorite things to make was lavish curtains. Louise enjoyed shopping, traveling and cooking. In her earlier years she loved playing sports such as bowling, softball and tennis. On many summer occasions Louise loved to go to amusement parks with family to swim and ride thrill rides. Louise was a well known, and well-liked individual. She was known for her good looks, beautiful smile, big legs, and stylish suits. She was jovial and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed life to the fullest and lived each day as her last. She was a very strong, wise, and caring individual. She seldom would say no to others and cared for everyone, as they were children of her own. Louise leaves to cherish her memories: her mother Louise Grant; her children, Thomas & Etta Carter, Robert Sanders Jr., Adraine Harris, Shelia Sanders, Carol & Rodney Price, Carl & Rhonda Sanders, David & Carol Sanders, Craig & Candace Sanders; her siblings, Willie Grant (Anniston AL), Robert Grant (Baltimore, Maryland), Annie Norwood (Anniston AL), and Walker Grant (Anniston AL); her aunts, Catherine Russell (Alabama), Allie Gilder (Alabama), and Lilly Grant (Alabama); her grandchildren, Ariane & Richard Hines, Arthur & Tamar Harris III, Antonio & Najla Harris, Robert Woodard, Devon Woodard, Pamela Woodard, Dominic Bednar, Joseph Bednar III, Travis Bednar, David Sanders, Derrick Sanders, Craig Sanders Jr., Corey Sanders, Camron Sanders, Chris Sanders, Najla Carter, Robert Sanders III, and Tyshyia Sanders; 16 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
