Lee F. Crosby Sr.

MR. LEE FRANK CROSBY, SR., affectionately known as Frank, departed this life suddenly in the early morning of April 19, 2025 in Baltimore. Frank was born July 3,1950 in Anderson County, South Carolina to the late Mr. Roy Crosby and the late Mrs. Mary Anna Peyton Crosby. Like the rest of the family, he was a member of the Wilson Calvary Baptist Church of Anderson,South Carolina. He always said his parents gave him a great childhood surrounded by many family members, friends and mentors, all who nurtured his “need to know mentality”. He attended Westside High School in Anderson and after moving to Baltimore he attended Douglass High School and was a member of the basketball team and Class of ’68. Immediately after high school he was drafted into the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War, where he was trained in communications and signal support. Thereafter he worked as a machine mechanic and truck driver. He retired from Mass Transit administration in 2000 after 28 years, where he worked as a driver. Before leaving for Vietnam he met Joyce Solomon-Haines of Baltimore and they were married after completion of his military service. He was interested in what was going on in the world, music, politics, art, history of the world, dogs, cars, sports, especially Basketball, playing pool like his father, drawing and loved to carve items out of wood and shape glass in his spare time with passion for giving good advice during a lively conversation about all of the above. Frank was never a fan of flying, his grandchildren changed that from the youngest and oldest having to travel for various sporting events and colleges, from coast to coast. He leaves to cherish fond memories, devoted wife and partner of 56½ years, Joyce Crosby; daughters, Angela Crosby, Charon Thomas and April Crosby all of Baltimore, MD and son, Lee Frank Crosby, Jr., of Salt Lake City, UT; sisters-in-law, Joan Crosby of Baltimore, MD, Deborah Crosby of Hinesville, GA and Myrtle Crosby of Atlanta, GA; daughter-in-law, Mele (Nevaeh) Crosby; sons-in-law, Cornell Thomas and Killes Robinson; grandchildren, first great-grandchild and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and good friends from all aspects of his life, all of whom he cherished and tried to touch bases with regularly. He was a good man and will be missed. I say again he was a good man and will be missed.
