Kurt A Dorsey

Eccleasiastes 3:1 KURT AUGUSTA DORSEY, was born on July 15, 1959 to the late Joseph and Mary (nee Sands) Dorsey of Randallstown, Maryland. He was the 3rd of 4 children. Kurt was raised in a loving home with parents who devoted much of their time to their children. They supported his love for sports. Kurt was educated in Baltimore County Public Schools and completed his education at Randallstown High School. During his time at Randallstown High, Kurt played the position of quarterback on the football team for a couple of years. Kurt had an avid love of sports. In his adolescent and young adult years, he played for numerous teams including multiple baseball, football and bowling leagues. He loved watching and attending sporting events. He could answer almost any sports trivia questions posed for him. He also enjoyed watching the Food Network, although he never attempted to cook! Kurt came from a family that has a passion for music. As a teenager, Kurt played in a band as the lead drummer. One of his favorite songs that the band played was Hotel California by The Eagles. He had a love for Led Zeppelin music. Kurt was employed by the Maryland Paper Box Company for many years and later went to work as a Maintenance Mechanic with the State of Maryland Department of General Services for 14 years. At the time of his passing, he was working part time as a staff member at P.E.I. Staffing. In 2001, Kurt met Cynthia Leasane, and on March 15, 2002, they were married. This union increased Kurt's family to include a son, Aaron L. Franklin. Kurt expressed that his desire to be a father was fulfilled. Kurt loved God. He read the bible each day along with the Daily Bread and shared the scriptures that he read. He had an extraordinary happy attitude. He was very kind, extremely generous, and a supportive gentleman who loved his family, friends, and people in general. He was very jovial and loved to make people laugh with the many catch phrases that he was known for saying. On April 2, 2019, Kurt entered eternal rest. Kurt was preceded in death by mother, Mary Dorsey; father, Joseph Dorsey; and brother, Nathaniel Phillips Sr. He leaves to mourn; wife, Cynthia L. Dorsey; son: Aarion Lynn Franklin; daughter-in-law: Renitta Franklin; three grandchildren: Ariel, Aarion, and Honor Franklin; two sisters: Phyllis William and Ruthi McKesson; two sisters-in-law: Shanna Strickland, Pamela Lesane Lacey, and Carmilla Lesane; brothers-in-law: George Williams, Marshall Strickland , David Lesane, and Calvin Lacey; nine nieces: Shawn Phillips, Carla Scott, Stephanie Harris, Vanessa Dorsey, Breyonne Young (Goddaughter), Chimere Lesane-Matthews, Amber Lesane, Courtney Hines, and Jasmine Lesane; four nephews: Nathaniel Phillips Jr., Deion Young (godson), Donte' Lesane, and Tyrone Wilkes; three aunts: Henrietta Burgess, Joan Zander, and Edna Dorsey; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
