Julia I. Law

Julia Tatum Law, daughter of the late Irene and McDuffie Justice, was born on August 27, 1938 in Baltimore, Maryland. Her journey home started on the morning of November 28, 2003, after a brief illness, God called her home to rest in eternal peace.Julia was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She graduated from Douglass High School in the year 1956. She attended Baltimore City Community College to better herself as it related to her work/career path. She looked forward to becoming and working as a Lab Technician. Before becoming a Lab Technician, Julia worked at several jobs throughout Baltimore City. She worked as a secretary, meter maid, crossing guard and she worked for the Department of Defense and the United States Public Health Hospital in their drug-testing lab, as a Lab Technician.In the year of 1971 she was united in holy marriage to Ernest E. Law on November 21, 1971. From this union two son, Kemar and Omar were born. Julia was a loving daughter who cared for both her mother and father before their death. She accepted God in her life at an early age as a Baptist and later converting to the catholic faith. She was a pleasing and pleasant person to meet because she always greeted everyone with a kind word and a smile.Julia was a volunteer who loved helping others; she was a Den Mother for her son’s Scout pack. She received the complimentary degree of “Queen of the South,” by Order of the Eastern Star in Maggie C. Upshur; Chapter #53 located in Baltimore. Julia was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Unit #21 of Dundalk, Maryland. While in the DAV Auxiliary Unit #21, she became Unit Commander.Her greatest and most rewarding accomplishment came when she was elected “Commander “ of the State of Maryland Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She loved serving the Disabled Veterans and all others.Julia leaves to mourn: her husband, Ernest E. Law; two sons, Kemar and Omar Law; one daughter-in-law; sister, Ms. Charlotte A. McDowell; four grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Julia, we love you very much, you will always be truly missed. Your warm smile, gentle touch and pleasing hello will remain with us forever.
