A Time to Be Born: James Weldon Whitw orth, beloved son of the late Ida McKinster Whitworth, was born on June 3, 1945, in Baltimore Md. A Time to Plant: At an early age James accepted Christ as his personal Savior, and went to church with his Mom. Although he never reconnected with a specific church fellowship, he would often visited Eastern United Methodist Church, where his wife and daughters worship. A Time to Build: James was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. James was employed by W. Bell & Company, until it's closing. He later gained employment as a forklift driver, for Pickwick Apartment, where he retired. James, who was affectionately known as "Butch", loved sports and became umpire and coach for Baltimore City Parks and Recreation Department. Coach James had real love for baseball and inspired younger men to be a part of the Charger A.C Team. There he helped to cultivate young men into being stronger men in their community and the unity of team work, and brotherhood. A Time to Embrace: James, was united in Holy Matrimony on August 18, 1986 to the love of his life Lucy M. Horton. Once united with Lucy, he gained 3 daughters, whom he helped nurture, love and cherish. A Time to Depart: On July 6, 2014 at 5:08pm, James transitioned peacefully from labor to reward. Those who remain to celebrate his life and spirit are: his devoted wife of twenty-eight years, Lucy; three daughters, Amelia (Streater) Davis of Baltimore, Md., Crystal Worstey of Orlando, Florida, and Angelic (Maurice) Edwards of Orlando Florida; four granddaughters, Sharmonique, Angelica, Shakira, and Kristal; grandson, Andre Jr., five great-granddaughters, one great-grandson; three nephews, Paul Valentine Jr, Tony (Margaret) Valentine, Michael (Gisele) Valentine, all of Baltimore, Md.; sister-in-law, Mary O. Falls; devoted cousin, Ida, and childhood friends, Edwin Johnson and Rufus Kennedy, and a host of other relatives and friends. A million times I needed you, a million times I cried, If love alone could save you, you never would have died; In Life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still. No one can ever fill. The Golden Gate stood open God saw you needed rest; His Garden must be beautiful, he always picks the best. You're Loving Wife Sweet Lucy
