Jaelin Daivon Ashe

None of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. Romans 14:7-8 Jaelin Daivon Ashe, III, was called to heaven’s pearly gates, December 20, 2012 to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born in Richmond, Virginia to Vann Ashe III and Tonya Jackson on April 21, 1997. He was an aspiring ninth grade student at Fort Meade Senior High School. Jaelin was a wide receiver and punt returner for the Mustangs. He also was a member of the ROTC program. Jaelin adored his loving grandmother; he cherished all that she stood for. In 2010, Jaelin was baptized at The ROC. He enjoyed the fellowship of helping others by distributing sneakers to the homeless monthly and being an avid volunteer at the soup kitchen. In his spare time, he would watch the history and military channel, along with Tosh 6.0. A lot of times he would wear his red University of Maryland hoodie, which was one of his favorites and listening to his music “Nas´illmatic”, while he worked out. He was known by saying “get out the hood and get Rocafella chains”. Jaelin dreamed to make it to the NFL or join the United States Marines and serve his country. We know that he lives in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him as being upbeat and full of life. We were so fortunate to have had him in our lives and we feel empty without him. Jaelin will always be remembered as a loving and devoted grandson, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He leaves to cherish his precious memory loving parents, Vann Ashe II and Tonya Jackson; 3 sisters, GéNe, Roché and Taela Jackson; brother, Michael Aldridge; loving and cherished grandparents, Beverly and Vann Ashe, Sr., who raised him as their own child; grandmother, Virginia Jackson; 4 uncles, Avery and Kareem Ashe, Maurice Jackson and Ronald Gullette; and a host of other relatives and friends. He may no longer be with us physically, just remember that he will always be with us in both spirit, memory and you will not be alone.
