Gregory Jerald Billy

Gregory Jerald Billy, affectionately known to many as "Chico" was the son of John M. and Shirley A. Billy. He began his life on September 22, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life suddenly on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at his home in Baltimore, Maryland. Gregory received his formal education in the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Northern High School. He held a few jobs after graduation until he came across a great job opportunity working at Wayne's BBQ in Harbor Place. He started out as a Cook and shortly worked his way up to a Managerial position. In addition to his many accomplishments, he also attended All State Career for Class A CDL Advanced Tractor Trailer Driving. He graduated in 1998. He took great pride in driving tractor' trailers for he loved traveling on the roads. He truly enjoyed working for his current employer, Acadia Windows & Doors and had been with the company for 5 years. He loved his co-workers who were more like family. ..In 1997, Gregory met the love of his life, Benita Smith and soon after they dated the two married on July 7, 1997. From the union, three beautiful children were born: Tiara, Davaughn and Chantelle. They were known to family and friends as, "The Billy's". As a member of the band, "John Billy & The Generators"; Chico adored music: from playing the drums with the band, to singing doo-wop with the fellas to riding in the car listening to the kids sing James Brown tunes. Jootball was his favorite pastime. He was a die hard Ravens fan whom grew up playing little league football with the Loch Raven Colts. He was able to pass down his childhood experiences to his youngest son as he played for the Pikesville Wildcats. Not only did he love grooming and coaching his son but he loved bonding with the football moms and dads. You could always find him on the field alongside the coaches. Gregory was a devoted family man, a hardworking employee, a wonderful friend and a caring individual. He was well loved and adored by everyone he came in contact with and will be truly missed by all whom he touched. Gregory leaves to mourn his memory, his loving wife: Benita Billy; seven children: Tiara, Davaughn, Chantelle, Dontae, Jackie, Mesean and Gregory; his parents: Shirley A. Billy and John M. Billy; two brothers: John H. Billy and Julius Billy; two sisters: Terry A. Billy and Veronica Billy; one son-in- law: Cedric; five uncles: Bobby, Ronald, Sandy, Cherry and Carol; seven aunts: Betty, Barbara, Lillian (Lil), Mattie, Maria, Jackie and Linda; two brother-in-laws: Kevin and Andre Smith; two sister-in-laws: D'Shanna and Barbara Smith, grandchildren! and a host of family and friends. Gregory was preceded in death by his father & mother-in-law: Phillip and Catherine Smith; brother-in-law: Clifton Smith and two uncles: Nathaniel Billy and Robert Howard.
