Gloria Sheron Jackson-Ishmeal

On March 16, 1952, an Angel was loaned to us in the form of GLORIA SHERON JACKSON. She was the youngest daughter of the late Bishop James Henry and Pernetta Jackson. The Lord saw fit call her home on Monday, May 14, 2012. Gloria was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. After high school, Gloria was employed by the Baltimore City Department of Social Services, Cherry Hill Division. Later she obtained a Geriatric Nursing Degree from the PTC Career Institute. She worked as a nurse's assistant caring for the elderly. She bore two lovely children, Thomas LaRone Brown and Rhonda Cann. She later met and married Akim Ishmeal. Gloria was very comical, and used humor to make life seem more acceptable doing hard times. She kept them close to her heart and always in prayer. Her two older siblings, Bishop Jebb Jackson and Dr. Loretta Jackson were a great inspiration to her Christian walk. God chose and obtained Gloria S. Jackson - Ishmeal to be a Missionary in 1999, at the Pleading Holiness Church of Christ under the leadership of her pastor and brother, Bishop Jebb Jackson. She was truly a great woman of God and lived a life according to the Word of God .She never hesitated to let people know about Jesus Christ, crucified , buried, risen, and is coming again. Some of her favorite quotes are, “You gotta know Jesus for yourself,” “Nothing is too hard for God ,” and Jesus told me He would take of me Her favorite scripture was Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God” Gloria' s life demonstrated faith faith, works and the power of prayer. She would pray for anybody at any given time, and point the unsaved to Jesus. Sister Ishmeal went on home to glory , but leaves a legacy in Christ Jesus to her children: Thomas L. Brown and Deacon Rhonda Cann; three brothers Bishop Jebb Jackson, Roy Jacob Jackson and Joseph Jerome Jackson;one sister-in-law, Dr. Loretta Jackson; one sister-in- law, Delores Jackson; two grandchildren, Tiffany Brown and Taquan Smith. Gloria had a deep love for all her nephews and nieces; she always did something special for them. She leaves a host aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. Her best friend down through the years Janice Jones.
