Gerry Albert Moore

Gerry Albert Moore, the beloved son of the Late Jerome Leroy and Anna Ruth Armstead Moore was born on July 8, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life after a short illness on March 11, 2011. Gerry was educated in The Baltimore public school system graduating from City College High School in 1969. He served in The United States Amy from 1971, receiving an honorable discharge. During this time, he met and married Joyce Suite and their union produced two daughters, Danielle Katrina and Martina Denise (fondly named after his brother, Martise). Gerry began his 34-year career as an outstanding electrician at General Electric in 1977. Like his grandfather and father, Gerry could fix anything electrical from radios and microwaves to copies and car. Gerry was passionate about his work. Once he had an interest in something, he would research it, take it apart and put it back together better than the manufacturer, then Gerry would tell you how good he was at it. His passions did not end there. Gerry enjoyed listing to old school music while relaxing; and was a connoisseur of antique trains, swords and rifles. He loved to hunt, play chess and bingo, and his favorite pastime was fishing, where he could reminisce and reflect on life. He also loved plants and growing his own tomatoes, lettuce and carrots. He had a huge collection of recording and stereo equipment from LPs to eight tracks to compact discs. He collected war movies and especially enjoyed books on the Civil War and World War II. Gerry was a sharp dresser ( Mr. GQ) and always took pride in his appearance. One of his favorite places to go dancing and socialize was the Vulcan Blazers. Gerry had the gift of gab and always spoke his mind. His motto, “They either love me or they don't”. He is survived by his wife Joyce, loving daughters, Danielle Katrina Moore and Martina Denise Pratt, who never left his side during his illness; sisters, Jerhretta Suite (Elmore) and Anna Moore; brothers Anthony (Jeanetta) and Martise (Melinda) Moore; and three grandchildren, Darius Antonio Heyward, Ima Paloma And Jade Alexandria Pratt; three special aunts, Thelma Baker, Janice Braithewaite and Jacqueline Diggs; a very special cousin, Raphael (Dinky) Baker, who is more like a brother, and a host of loving family and friends.
