Geraldine Williams

GERALDINE WILLIAMS was born in Fernandina, Florida, to the late Irene Jackson and Oscar Bailey. She was raised in Jacksonville, Florida, where her cousins, Isadore and Emily Moody, lovingly adopted her. Geraldine attended public school in Florida and was an active, baptized member of St. Matthew Baptist Church. God blessed her with a special gift to play the piano by ear and sing with a beautiful soprano voice. Later in life, she met and married Willie Taylor, and together they were blessed with five children. After spending several years in New Orleans, she returned to Florida and enrolled at the Jones School of Cosmetology, where she successfully earned her license as a professional cosmetologist. Geraldine later met and married Carlton L. Williams, prompting a move to Baltimore, Maryland. There, she joined Mount Lebanon Baptist Church and became an active part of the community. She was further blessed with the opportunity to take ownership of Gwynn Oak Beauty Salon, which she proudly renamed Geri’s Beauty Salon. Driven by a passion for serving others, she enrolled at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) for the Nursing Assistant program, completed the course, and worked part-time at Granada Nursing Home. Geri successfully owned and operated her beauty salon for more than 34 years. A dedicated musician, she shared her musical talents widely, playing for the Silver Leaf Gospel Singers, the Howard Park Methodist Youth Choir, and many other musical groups. In addition to her ministry, she was a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she honorably held the leadership positions of Worthy Matron and Musician. Her legacy of faith, music, and entrepreneurship will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her five children, Willie Taylor, Bernard Taylor, Wanda Davis, Lynn Taylor, and Stanley Taylor. Geraldine leaves to cherish her memory:13 grandchildren, Troye Taylor, Tonya Scott (Timothy), Mark Taylor, Bernard Taylor, Gerald Taylor, Cherdrica Forest, Erica Davis Watkins (Will), Stephanie Davis, Lynn Taylor, Jr., Shawn Taylor, Stanley Taylor, Jr., Shaun Clarke and Christopher Clarke; 24 great-grandchildren, Henry Taylor, Elijah Taylor, Timmiesha Hairston (Patrick), Ceiarra Harris (Chris), Timothy Scott Jr., Ashley Hulst (Thomas), Lauren Scott, Quantay Taylor, Kinyari Deans, Isaiah Taylor, Destiny Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Ashley Taylor, JaeQuan Kemp, Nathan Taylor, Garrison Watkins, Kayla Taylor, Jiselle Luong, Lashae Taylor, Trinity Taylor, Jasmine Taylor, Snoh Taylor, Shaun Clarke and Chase Clarke; seven great-great grandchildren, Christopher Harris, Cash Harris, Aniya Hairston, Thomas Hulst Jr., Ciaro Harris, Kamari Deans, and Alexandria Gray; two sisters, Rosemary Price and Arletha John; two daughter-in-laws, Alberta Taylor and Patricia Clarke; cousin, Doretha Dasher and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
