George Henry Greene Jr.

George H. Greene, Jr. was born on February 17, 1942 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Helen Baskerville Greene and George H. Greene Sr. George was the older of two children. He was baptized at an early age and was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board, Men's Ministry, Choir and Trustee Board. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Selina E. Greene and sister, Sandra J. Turner. George was educated in the Richmond Public School system and graduated from Maggie L. Walker High School class of 1960. From there he joined the United States Air Force, which landed him in Bermuda, serving four years before he was honorably discharged. George worked as a vehicle operator for approximately 15 years at Kindley Air Force Base in Bermuda before returning to Richmond, Virginia where he spent the next 30 years as a tractor trailer driver which he loved with a passion. In April 1969, 47 years ago, George married Judith Viola Claudette Outerbridge. From this union they had three girls. George was definitely a "DADDY" to his five girls and one son. He loved to take them for Sunday drives, going to get ice cream or late Saturday summer evenings cooking on the grill. George was a small man in stature but had a big heart. He loved fishing on Sunday's with his mates, cleaning and waxing his lawnmover and took great pride in everything that he did. One thing that very few people knew, George could play the organ by ear. You would always hear George say "I can dig it!" in agreement or "Don't leave now, I am about to cut the melon" as a gesture of goodbye. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted wife, Judith; daughters, Renay (Patrick), Helen (Kent), Lisa, and Doricka (Ernest); son, Antoine (Selena); 16 grandchildren of them devoted Sade, Clevie, Mariah, Tamara, Ka'nika, Nwaomiko, Kendrea, Darryl (D-Jay), Haile and Brooklyn; 7 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Pearl Taylor; sisters-in-law, Edna Lynn Tuzo, Muriel Santucci (Wendell), Beverly Outerbridge; brothers-in-law, Vernon Outerbridge (Jackie) and Shawn Taylor (Tamara); cousins, one devoted, Jerry Wanzer and family; a host of nieces and nephews, one devoted, Tonya Gaymon; extended family and devoted friends Sterling Minnicks, Quincy Ellis and the Men's Ministry of New Bridge Baptist Church.
