Freddie Louis Woodson February 22, 1958 - August 3, 2026 On Monday, August 3, 2026, Freddie Louis Woodson, a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 68. Freddie was born on February 22, 1958, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Richard Woodson and Juanita Woodson. He received his education through Richmond Public Schools. Freddie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Woodson Jr. Early in life, Freddie met the love of his life, Angela Lewis, and from their union came two beloved daughters. Family was at the center of Freddie’s heart, and he believed deeply in the importance of love, unity, and togetherness. Freddie had a passion for sports, music, good food, and game nights surrounded by family and friends. He had a generous and compassionate heart and genuinely loved people. He welcomed others with warmth, kindness, and an open heart. His quick wit, infectious smile, and ability to make people feel comfortable were among the many qualities that made him so special. A true lover of nature, Freddie enjoyed peaceful moments at the lake and long early-morning walks. He loved to talk, share stories, and reminisce. Those who knew him will remember his laughter, his stories, his wisdom, and the genuine interest he took in the lives of others. Freddie’s greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he treasured beyond measure. Professionally, he was employed by Phillip Morris, DuPont and later Delta Air Lines, where he continued to work until his recent illness. Freddie leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Angela Lewis; daughters Latara Lewis (Eric) and Breontay Lewis (Keshawn); brothers Robert Winston (Maude) and Warren Woodson (Juanita); sisters Rowena Williams (Arthur) and Sylvia Woodson; brothers-in-law Robert Lewis (Kendal), Ronald Lewis (Shenell), and Larry Lewis (Yolanda); sister-in-law Katina Lewis (Kelly); grandchildren Akiyah, Tariah and Akhee Bailey, Erynn Atkins, Zaria Braxton, Zuri, ZaKei and Zia Purnell; nieces Saronna, Bianca, Darena, Gianna, Amani, Talitha, Robinette, Neecy, and Shania; nephew Martin; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. He also leaves three devoted friends: Gregory Carter and Kelly Johnson of Richmond, Virginia, and Eric Ferrebee of Valley, Alabama, who shared a special bond with him. Freddie’s life was a gift to everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, his laughter, kindness, stories, wisdom, and unwavering love for family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his memory forever be a blessing.
