Evelyn Faith Maples

Our beloved Evelyn Faith Maples was born in Loudoun County, Virginia, July 18, 1926 to the late Arthur Jackson and Minnie Robinson. On February 21, 2009, she departed this earthly life. She was preceded in death by her son, Adolphus Maples, Jr. and eleven brothers and sisters. Faith attended the historic one room elementary school in Waterford, Virginia, Douglas High School in Loudoun County and MCV, Saint Phillips School of Nursing in Richmond, Virginia.Early in life she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and later became a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church of Richmond, Virginia. She practiced the love of the Lord through her many kind deeds and acts of love that were extended to everyone she met. Faith had a wonderful friendly spirit and could always say something to make you laugh. She took pride in singing in the church choir.Faith practiced nursing for many years and took pride in doing so. Her love for people was evident in the way she cared for and treated her patients. She volunteered for the Red Cross for many years and received numerous awards. Faith was also an outstanding member of Omnia Bona, Inc. for many years.Faith was a very special person who had a great impact on everyone she met. She loved all people and people loved her. She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit many places in the world. She was noted for her style in clothing. She loved to dress and made a fashion statement with her beautiful hats and shoes. Faith Maples will be remembered as a lady of elegance. Evelyn Faith Maples leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Adolphus Louis Maples Sr.; two loving and devoted children, Andrew Maples Sr. (Dale), Sandra Maples Hubbard (George); six grandchildren, whom she adored, Adolphus III (Kaila), Rashida, Joy, Marques, Malcolm, and Andrew Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Jaylen, Amory, Justin, Malek and Jordan; a sister, Gladys Lewis; three sisters-in-law, Pauline Cornelius (James), Irma Lee and Doris Walker; brother-in-law, Roger Maples and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
