Ella Jean Johnson

Ella Jean (Pullen) Johnson was born on February 23, 1953 to Rebecca Pullen and the late Deacon Nathanial Pullen. Our Heavenly Father, in His all wise, merciful and compassionate grace, swiftly called her into His loving and eternal presence on Tuesday, May 13, 2003.Jean, as family and friends affectionately knew her, attended the former Samuel Chase Elementary School (now known as the Luther Craven Mitchell Primary Center). She furthered her education at Gwynns Falls Junior High School and graduated from Edmondson High School in 1968.Jean employment career included working at the Commercial Credit Corporation for many years, afterwhich she retired from Maryland National Bank).On July 22, 1972, Jean married the love of her life, Ephraim Jerome Johnson, sr., that preceded her in death. From this union two children were born: Ephraim Jerome, Jr. and Kimberly Latricia.Around 1986, Jean joined Peasant Rock Baptist Church and faithfully served on committees and participate in various activities. She was the chairperson of the Fifth Anniversary of the church and pastor and always gave of her time and talent as far as her health allowed her to do so.If awards were given for accomplishments in cooking, home decoration and for the unique skills needed to patiently raise and nurture one of God’s very special children, Jean would capture “first place” for her unswerving devotion to her son, Jerome.She was an especially gifted person who truly loved her husband, children and family, This part of her life was most vivid and completely captured in the many family albums she prepared and kept up to date, illustrating the cycles of growth and achievement of each family member.Memories of this precious and loving child of God will be cherished by: her children, Ephraim Jerome Jr. and Kimberly Latricia; granddaughter, Kyaih’ya Campbell; mother, Rebecca Pullen; sister, Gladys Pullen (sister, Patricia Pullen Allen preceded her in death): brother, Michael Pullen; aunts and uncles, Thomas and Amelia Tabron (Baltimore, Maryland), Plumber and Alice Harris, Louise Silver, Nevy Solomon, Lillian Solomon and Clarabelle Solomon (North Carolina); very loving and devoted goddaughter, Kwanza Scurry; her faithful friends and confidantes, Mary Johnson and Sildier Lashley: father-in-law, Ephraim Jerome Johnson; mother-in-law, Daisy Lee Johnson; sisters-in-law, Florence Johnson, Felicia Gray and Vivian Johnson; brother, Johnny Johnson; brothers-in-law, Dwight Johnson and Dr. Darrell Gray; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
