Dorothy Louise Johnson

Dorothy Louise White Johnson (Sistee), was born in White Stone, Virginia on December 5, 1929 to the late John Allen White and Geneva Elnora Davis-White. She was the youngest sibling. She entered into eternal rest in the arms of Jesus on Friday, May , 2012 at 8:15 p.m. and entered her heavenly home. Dorothy attended the Morgan E. Norris Elementary School, and was baptized and later joined the New St. John’s Baptist Church in Kilmarnock, Virginia. In 191 the family moved to Baltimore, Maryland where Dorothy attended schools in the Baltimore City Public School System. She also attended New Shiloh Baptist Church. Dorothy was united in Holy Matrimony to Thomas E. Johnson of Baltimore; formerly of West Virginia. To this union five children were born. Dorothy was a licensed Cosmetologist and worked for many years as a beautician. She was also a child care provider for a number of years. Later, she became a private duty nurse in healthcare. She had a passion for sewing and loved to design and make her own clothes. Into every stitch, a labor of love, because everything she sewed she did so only by hand. Dorothy was a fun-loving, compassionate and generous woman, who helped anyone who needed help. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends expecting them to eat with her whenever they dropped by for a visit. She was a loving and caring woman who devoted her entire life to the happiness of her family. Dorothy leaves to mourn her passing and cherished memory: two daughters, Valerie J. Bundy and Tamara Johnson; two sons, Thomas Jr. and Arvia Johnson all of Baltimore, Maryland; five grandchildren, Kevin, Kim, Kier (Denita), Keisha and Ka’ra; ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters-in-law, nine nieces, seven nephews; and a host of cousins, relatives and other friends including special cousins and friends, Clementine Belle and Iola Caver. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; both parents; a son, Victor Edwin; her siblings, John Winfrey, Silas Nathaniel, Elzie Leroy White and Anna Naomi White-Farrow; and a son-in-law, Charles Bundy. As we affectionately called her Dorothy, Mommy, Ma, Sistee, Aunt Sister, Grandma, Grandma Dorothy, Great-Grandma, Ms. Dorothy; Dot will be greatly missed by all who passed along her way
