Della Elizabeth Britt-Golden

Della Elizabeth Britt-Golden was the only daughter of the late Lowell and Della Britt born on March 27, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She departed this life on December 26, 2003. Della attended West Philadelphia High School and later in life continued her education at Baltimore Community College where she earned her associates degree in Business.Della was blessed with two children, a son, Bernard L. Moore and a daughter, Rachelle D. Johnson. She met the love of her life, Marion Golden, and wed on November 6, 1982. They resided happily in Baltimore, Maryland. She was long time employee of TV Guide in Radnor, Pennsylvania and later with The United way of Central Maryland, where she held the position of Office Manager. She retired from The United Way after years of service on June 24, 1997. Upon retirement, Della was extremely active with the local Senior Citizen center; she even taught a swimming class for the local senior women and never missed a day trip.Della was a loving vibrant woman with a free spirit, who brought joy and smiles to everyone. Anyone who met Della would remember her, for she left a long lasting imprint within the hearts of people who crossed her path. She absolutely adored her family and every chance she received she cheerfully boasted about their accomplishments and milestones in life. She had a passion for fashion and at one point in her life she was an avid seamstress and enjoyed knitting. Amongst her hobbies she enjoyed fishing, traveling, reading, bowling, singing and a good Saturday afternoon western flick. To relax you could find Della sitting on her back porch during a rain shower listening to the rain while indulging in a good novel or crossword puzzle. Della was also a dedicated member of the Community Baptist Church of Cherry Hill, a Born Again Christian. As a loving member of the church, she was an usher and participated in the Sunday School program.Della leaves to honor her life: a loving husband of twenty-one years, Marion Golden; a brother, Lowell Jr. preceded her in death; son, Bernard L. Moore; daughter, Rachelle D. Johnson; two stepdaughters, Ruby Fincher and Louisa Robinson; devoted daughter-in-law, Marsha Moore; five grandchildren, Farrah, Britt, Cornell, Brittany and Brianna; three great grandchildren, Brittnie, Elijah and Julian; and a host of relatives and friends.
