Delisa K. Rich

DELILA KATRINA RICH, affectionately known as “Lisa and Abby”, was born on Sunday, July 25, 1967 to the late Thomas Rich, Sr. and Viola Anderson in Baltimore, Maryland. In the evening hour of Friday, August 18, 2006, in a intimate tone, Delisa chanted a verse of “Precious Lord” to her family. Very quietly, on Saturday, August 19, 2006, God in his infinite wisdom called Delisa from labor and pain to reward. Delisa gave her life to Christ at and early age. She was a member of the United Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD and ministered on their Women and Mass Choir when her health permitted. She really enjoyed worshipping with her family and friends and friends at the “U”. Delisa was gifted through song. Family and friends often called upon her to exalt one of her three favorite hymns, “Precious Lord”, “I Won’t Complain” and “Eyes On The Sparrow.Delisa attended Baltimore City public schools. She received her “GED” and later began her career path with children.Delisa was employed at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Patterson High School, The Woodbourne Center, The Lange Center and Arrow Project. She endured an inviting, loving, caring and divined spirit for children from her mom. She often sponsored activities for the youth such as; Easter and Back to School discos. She, also enjoyed taking them roller-skating and to church. In 2001, God called Delisa to find a caregiver for one of the youth she worked with at the Lange Center. She successfully completed this task; the youth and family are thankful for her.Delisa loved life and would let it show in her beautiful smile wherever she went. She had a very distinct voice and was often heard saying, “You know what”, “I know that’s right”, “Stop playing”, “How bout that” and “Hey cuz’n. To know her was to love her and because of that she had numerous friends. If you knew her you was her cousin. She was truly devoted family person and would go out of her way to make her children and grandchildren happy. She enjoyed family gatherings, shopping, styling hair, dining out (seafood was her specialty), singing, but most of all dancing. She had such a unique way of dancing and would have a crowd around her on the dance floor at every occasion.Delisa’s dad, Thomas Rich, Sr., and her brother, Donald Foster preceded her in death.Delisa leaves a beloved family to exalt and cherish her memories: mother, Viola Anderson; five children, Sean, Tylisa, Shennika, Terryka and Andrea; three grandchildren, Sean, Jr., Shaunea and Darryl; one brother, Thomas Rich, Jr., six sisters, Evoria Foster, Marion Clinton, Celestine Young, Tia Rich, Caroline Richardson, all of Baltimore, and Yvonne Rich of Ohio; one brother-in-law, Gregory Clinton; three aunts, Emma Hatten, Gloria Hazel and Mary Davis, eleven nieces, fifteen nephews, twelve great nieces, ten great nephews, one Godchild, Diamond Dukes, Stepfather, Mr. Kee, stepmother, Vivian Rich, devoted family and friends of Shades of Beauty, a friend; Blanton Patterson and a host of other relatives and friends.
