David Eugene Day

DDAAVVIIDD EEUUGGEENNEE DDAAYY was born on April 20, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Albert and Susie (Carter) Day. He was baptized as an infant and received First Communion at Saint Pius Memorial Roman Catholic Church. He departed this life on June 22, 2026, at the home of a close friend. David attended Lake Clifton High School before leaving during his freshman year to begin working alongside his father in the construction industry. On March 17, 1979, he married Phyllis Ann (Allen) Day in Baltimore, Maryland. Although their marriage later ended in divorce, it brought him one of his life's greatest blessings—his eldest daughter, April Sabrina (Day) Jones. He later found love with Phyllis Marie Teal. Their relationship was blessed with the birth of his youngest daughter, Kendra Shanteal (Day) Roach, who became another of life's greatest blessings to him. David worked in construction most of his life. Whenever he traveled throughout Baltimore City, he took great pride in pointing out the bridges, buildings, and other structures that he and his father had helped build. One of his favorite pastimes was gardening and watching his plants thrive. He loved music and he loved to dance. He lived his entire life to a soundtrack—listening to music whenever he did anything: cleaning his apartment, getting dressed, and relaxing outside in the backyard. Above all else, David treasured his family and loved them unconditionally. He especially appreciated surprise visits from his daughter Kendra and his granddaughters. He greeted everyone with a sincere smile and made many friends through his friendly and approachable manner. He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Susie Day and his siblings George (Sandra), Lawrence, Wayne (Tina), Andre, Patricia, Charlene, Hilda, and Jacqueline. David leaves to cherish his memory: two daughters, April Jones (Earl) and Kendra Roach (Christopher); four granddaughters, Zuri, Kamille, Kennedy, and Kaylin; his sisters Dorothy Horton-Brown (Jay), Linda Day-Henry (James), Risa Day-Chavez (Michael), Angela Day-Scott (Kevin); his brother Mark Day; several nieces and nephews; close friends Karen Henderson and Larry Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
