Daniel G. Baker

Psalm 23:1 – The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want!Daniel Baker, Sr., the son of Sherman Baker and Norma Jetted, was born in March 8,1958 in Baltimore, Maryland. Daniel died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at Maryland General Hospital.Mr. Baker was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System, graduating from Edmondson High School. Daniel participated in many sports activities while in school, especially football.Daniel was a respected member of his community; he was very helpful to all seniors and children in the community. The day before his death, he signed up to volunteer as a hall monitor and to teach students at Samuel Coleridge Taylor #122 how to play chess.Daniel served thirteen years in the United States Army National Guard. After his honorable discharge from the Military Service, he worked as a chef with various restaurants in Baltimore City such as Swenson of the Inner Harbor, June’s Restaurant, Beltway Business Park Hotel Restaurant located on Washington Boulevard, and the Lincoln Nursing Home.Mr. Baker is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn and mother, Norma Jeter; aunt, Theresa Brown; son, Daniel Jr.; two stepdaughters, Chiffvon White and Katrina White; stepson, William Michael White and Tracy White, the oldest of seven stepgrandchildren. Daniel is also survived by one sister, Melissa Butler; two brothers, Alonzo and George Jeter of Baltimore, Md.; brother-in-law, Kenny Butler; two sisters-in-law, Eva and Donna Jeter; and a host of nieces and nephews, Douglas, Antwain, Corinda, Irvin, Darrel, Alonzo Jr., Tra’shel, Brittney, George Jr., Janet and Lavon; and a host of other relatives and friends.TO MY DEVOTED AND WONDERFUL HUSBANDDaniel, you are an inspiration to everyone and me. Daniel, you are going to be missed. Daniel and I have a special bond together. We were very close. When you saw him, you saw me. He taught me how to smile, and have plenty of laughter. Sadness wasn’t a part of his life. He always had something funny to say to make your day. Daniel and I have very comforting words for each other. We had great year’s together and good times. Thank you, Daniel, for spending the best years of life with me.
