Christine Littlejohn

After a long-term illness, CHRISTINE LITTLEJOHN departed her life on July 3, 2005. Christine was born on February 15, 1922 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Calvin and Minnie Lipscombe. Mrs. Littlejohn was the youngest of her mother and father's children, so of course, that would make her their baby girl. She received her education at "Jerusalem," the one-room schoolhouse in South Carolina. Later at the age of fourteen she found herself in a wedding dress and chapel, where she and the late Haskell Littlejohn were married. In 1978, Christine was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. During her twenty-eight of being a servant of Jehovah, she aided and welcomed her family and many more to her congregation. She served as a pioneer for as long as her body allowed her to. In her spare time, she found that preaching the Word of Jehovah to be very uplifting. She preached about how true the words of Jehovah were-even in sickness. Christine was one of the most loving and outgoing persons that you would ever want to meet. She loved everyone but her heart went out for, as she would say, her little babies, Jamar Gingles, Ashley Gingles and Martina Elkerson. She gave birth to eight children: the late Hattie Mae, Betty, Andrew, Dorothy, Hasker, Lillie, the late Shirley and the late Diann. Christine was so much more than a mother or grandmother. She was something that Jehovah God made. She was truly a strong woman to overcome the death of three children and the late Haskell Littlejohn. She will truly be missed by Jamar Gingles, Ashley Gingles and Martina Elkerson because in her time of need they were there. When the lives of Shirley Gingles and Diann Douglas Dorch departed from her, she became a mother figure to seven more children who she loved as if they were hers: Michelle Littlejohn, Julius, Vickie and Damon Gingles, Ericka and Monica Douglas and Jamal Gingles. She leaves to mourn: Martina, Derrill and Tevon Elkerson, Jamar and Ashley Gingles, Andrew and Haskell Littlejohn, Betty Williams, Dorothy Edwards, Lillie Pace, Michelle Littlejohn, Julius, Vickie and Damon Gingles, Ericka and Monica Douglas, Jamal Gingles, Shanae Rice and a host of nieces, nephews, and one hundred seventy-nine grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and friends.
