Charles Michael Lessane

CHARLES MICHAEL LESSANE, was born on July 14, 1955 to the late Homer D. Lessane and Geraldine Lessane in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. On Thursday, June 16, 2011 Michael suddenly departed this life. Michael, as he was affectionately known, found Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Roberson County, North Carolina in 1962. he moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1969. He was educated in the Baltimore City School System and Howard County Public School where upon graduation he entered Lincoln University in Oxford, Pennsylvania. Upon completion of his studies he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. During his college years he was an accomplished athlete where he excelled in track and field, which led Lincoln University to the Penn Relays, where he set the record in the mile relay. Michael also pledged Alpha Phi Alpha, Nu Chapter and was a dedicated member. Michael was business savy and excelled in the field of Marketing. At his time of death he was employed by Manheim Auctioneer, a division of Cox Communication of Atlanta, Georgia where he held the title of Ford Fleet Coordinator. Because he was such a go-getter, Michael also worked at Whitman Coins as a Coordinator. He had a passion for music and enjoyed playing his guitar for hours. At times falling asleep with his guitar. Sports were another favorite of his. He enjoyed playing and watching basketball, football and track and field. His love for his family can’t be put into words. He loved attending family get togethers and outings, visiting and always willing to lend a helping hand without being asked. He was a Mr.Fix-it (knew he could build/fix anything). He also was the best grilled and landscaper. A regular Energizer Bunny with a lawnmower mowing over anything/ everyone in his way. Michael leaves to cherish his memory: a loving son, Javon Lessane; mother, Geraldine Lessane; one brother, James Lessane; five aunts, Maxine, Brenda, Sharon, Fordie and Julie; three uncles, Grover Lee, Willie and David; one great- uncle, Clifford Grimes; two nieces, one nephew, one great-nephew, two special cousins, Glenn and Dawn; a host of cousins, other relatives and many, many friends. Also a special and loved friend, Jean. God has a way of letting His love shine through us to others and Michael was blessed to have the love of an extended (special) family. Ma Burgess, as she was known, and William Burgess (deceased) love and adored Michael as their own son. Along with Mike and Chuck Burgess who loved him as a brother. Whether it be a smile, a kind spoken word, a silly joke or helping hand, truly he shall be missed.
