Charles Holland, Jr.

On Sunday, March 15, 2015, God in His infinite wisdom dispatched His angels and called from labor Charles Harold Holland, Jr. Charles was born on May 10, 1950 to Loretta Holland and the late Charles Harold Holland, Sr. Charles received his education in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools, graduating from Southern Senior High in June, 1968. After graduation Charles was employed with Arundel Gas and Water Conditioning Company in Edgewater Maryland and later Hess Gas Station on West Street, Annapolis. Maryland . Charles was previously married to Mary Coates and from that union they were blessed with his first born, a daughter Tonika Holland. Charles later joined the United States Army where he met and married his wife Joyce Ann Terrell on September 24th, 1988 and from that union they were blessed with their son, Donte Tyrel! Holland, Sr. Charles served in the army and in the National Guard. In 2006, Charles was deployed to Kosovo where he served for one year. After 36 years of active duty Charles retired with an honorably discharge with the rank of Sergeant Major. Charles had two grandchildren, Lanae Beavers and Donte Tyrell Holland, Jr. His children and his grandchildren were the love of his life. Charles was a homebody but always enjoyed coming back home to Churchton on a regular basis to visit his family. Charles' hobbies were listening to oldies but goodies and watching westerns on TV. On Sunday mornings he loved his gospel music. Charles leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 27 years, Joyce Ann Terrell Holland; his darling daughter, Tonika Holland and his son, Donte' Tyrell Holland, Sr.; granddaughter, Lanae' Beavers and grandson, Donte' Tyrell Holland, Jr.; his loving mother whom he cherished, Loretta Holland; two brothers, Curtis Holland, Sr. and Clyde Holland; one sister, Brenda Holland; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Terrell and Denise Holland; three brothers-in-law, Earl Ward, Andrew and Dennis Terrell; five aunts, Lillie Mae Powell, Beverly Blackstone, Sarah Thompson, Jean Johnson, Buddy Wilkins; one great-aunt, Frances Turner; one uncle, Andres Blackstone; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Charles made numerous friends and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
