Catherine Cecila Theresa Day

On April 21,2023 an angel of God came to take Catherine Cecilia Theresa Day home. Awaiting her arrival was a host of family and friends including her husband of over 50 years Raymond Wilson Day Sr, her parents Mary Catherine and Clarence Albert Briscoe Sr. Also awaiting was her 2 sisters and brother (Gladys Elizabeth Brooks, Mary Magdalene Harrison and Clarence Albert Briscoe Jr.) who all preceded her in death. Catherine Cecilia Theresa Briscoe Day was borne on July 12, 1927 in Baltimore, MD. She was baptized at Saint Peters Claver Catholic Church. She attended school at Saint Peters Claver Catholic School. After she completed school, she went on to work with her mother Mary, cleaning houses. Catherine met her future husband Raymond, who lived 7 houses down from her house. They dated and had a lengthy romance. They continued their romance while Raymond went into the army from 1943-1946. After he returned from the Army, they went on to get married, and from that union they had 2 children, a daughter Mary Catherine Day Williams and a son, Raymond Wilson Day Jr. and a Bonus daughter Antainez Keene. In 1949 Catherine and Raymond bought a home and moved to Turner Station where they lived and raised their children. Catherine worked as a food server and cashier at Sparrow Points Steel Mill Service America Corporation until she retired in March of 1989. Catherine loved her family and friends. She and her husband Raymond belonged to a club, called The Ever Ready Gents and Ladies, which she love very much. Catherine and her sister Gladys also belonged to the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary. Catherine loved getting her hair done by her favorite beautician Betty. She also loved to travel with her family and grandchildren. She also loved playing solitaire, and watching her favorite tv shows including Murder She Wrote, Columbo, the original Magnum Pl and Blue Bloods with "her Man" Tom Selleck. Catherine was known for her kind heart and Generous nature. She was always willing to offer support or help and made everyone feel like they was always welcomed and she cared. Catherine leaves behind her daughter, Mary Catherine Williams, her son Raymond Wilson Day Jr. and Bonus daughter Antainez Keene. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Inez Pinder, Catherine Day, Yolanda Claiborne (spouse Myron Claiborne), Christina Redd (spouse Don Redd), Tony Grimes and Ian Grimes (spouse Tamika Grimes) and the Twins, who preceded her in death, Crystal and Esther. Eleven great grandchildren and One Great Great granddaughter, and a host of Nieces and Nephews and extended family and friends. And a Special Thank you to her goddaughter Marie Davis.
