Casandra Denise King

CASANDRA DENISE (RICHBURG) KING was born on August 19, 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Thomas Richburg and Helen (Bogier) Richburg. Suddenly, on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, Casandra passed from labor to reward. Casandra received her formal education through the Baltimore City School System. After high school graduation, she enrolled at Coppin State College. She later transferred to Towson State University and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Casandra gained employment with USF&G, Trailblazer Health Care and most recently with Advatica Eye Care. Employers and other staff at all of her work sites were blessed to have such a women of grace in their employment. She had a sweet spirit. Casandra began her Christian journey at an early age. She was baptized and became a disciple of the Israel Baptist Church (IBC) of Baltimore City. She has been at Israel all of her life. Casandra was a faithful and devoted Christian who loved her church and the late Reverend Edmond D. Mead who was her first Pastor, and up to her death Reverend H. W. Wilson, II current Pastor of IBC. Casandra was already to support all the ministries of IBC, financially spiritually. She was a devoted member of the IBS Music ministry. She loved to sing. As a matter of fact , she came from a family of singers. So you know she could carry a note. In 1979, while working at USF&G, Casandra met a young man who would turn out to be the love of her life. On September 18, 1982, she became Mrs. Robert S. King. From this union, two sons were born Robert, Jr and Derron. She was wonderful mother who always there for her boys and a wife who stayed by her husband 's side. Her husband called her “His Rib”. That would always make her chuckle She loved getting together with family members to plan and celebrate special occasions and holidays. She was the niece and aunt you could depend on; always looking after them. Casandra LOVED her soap operas. She never forgot her role as a big sister to her baby brother, Robert. She would never let anybody mess with him. If they tried, she was on them like white on rice. She was Robert's biggest fan. Always encouraging and and rooting him on towards his goals. Casandra was a mild-tempered, very caring, gentle, quiet, sweet-spirited woman. A Proverbs 31 women. Casandra leaves to cherish he memory; husband, Robert, Sr; two sons, Robert Jr. and Derron; four brothers, Thomas Richburg, Jr., Anthony Richburg, Robert Richburg and Elliott Richburg, one sister Jacqueline Richburg-Burgess; step-mother, Dorothy Richburg; step-sister, Dionne Curbean one brother-in-law William King; four sisters-in-law, Curray Richburg, Bernice Johnson, Julia King and Stacy Richburg ; one uncle, William Johnson; four aunts, Lorena Watson, Mary Wicks, Lucille Stallings and Mildred Bogier; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
