Carolyn Timmons

Carolyn Timmons was born August 29, 1949 to the late Bernard and Greta Timmons in Baltimore,Maryland. Her mother wanted to ensure that her 8th child wold get appropriate nuturing and support; so she assigned her sister, Dorothy, to be her "partner". From that relationship formed a bond which was an essential foundation to Carolyn's life. Carolyn received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior as a child due to the evangelism of her sister Arnetta, and Carolyn was baptized in her early 20's at Christian Life Church. She was humble in her salvation and always willing to listen to a witness for the Lord. Carolyn had a charming and magnetic personality that allowed her to make friends wherever she went. She was affectionate, generous, and very out-spoken. She had a gift for listening and many confided in her and sought her advice. Her nieces and nephews considered her "the Auntie who let you be you". Carolyn did not have children, but she claimed her nephew Marty, and great-nieces Greta and Ki'ara as her children. Carolyn had a flair for fashion and enjoyed wearing stylish clothing. She also took great pride in decorating her home. Her favorite music was the Oldies but Goodies. She was an excellent cook. Carolyn was not afraid of hard work. Many of her jobs were service related or manufacturing jobs. From her first job waitressing at the White Coffee Pot to the assembly line at the Christmas bulb factory, from Domino Sugar Co. and the McCormick Spice Co. to McCray Rubber and Tire Co.; from a dry cleaner presser to a sales clerk, Carolyn prided herself on keeping a job and being independent and self sufficient. She even did private duty nursing for several years. All these years of her feisty spirit, crazy logic and wit was a blessing to us. Carolyn's body was ravaged by spreading cancer. She fought until every avenue was exhausted. She left this life peacefully surrounded by her family. Her cheerful and beautiful smile will never be forgotten. Her memory is cherished by her sister, Bernice Timmons, sister-in-laws Rita Clark and Kathy Timmons, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
