Carolyn Marie Taylor

God saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb, so He gently closed Carolyn’s loving eyes and whispered “Peace Be Thine”. God dispatched an angel and summoned Carolyn Marie Taylor to her eternal rest on Monday, October 13, 2014. She was born September 4, 1953, in Hopewell, Virginia to Henry Holloway and the late Almeda Holloway. She graduated from Hopewell High School and furthered her studies at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and received an associate degree in medical coding. Carolyn was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Glen Allen participating and serving on many levels; the Hospitality Ministry, Intercessory Prayer Ministry and the Food Pantry. She also was a former Assistant Superintendent of Church School and a Sunday School Teacher. Sis. Carolyn also served on two choirs, and they are Voices of Commitment and Women’s Choir She was a very spiritual person that enjoyed reading her bible and serving the Lord by praising his name. Prior to retirement, Carolyn was an assistant manager for Walmart for many years, until her health began to fail. She was a respected employee that enjoyed meeting new people daily. Carolyn was very hardworking and was dedicated to whatever task that was given her. No matter what the assignment she stuck with it until it was completed. She was a compassionate, sensitive person, had an independent spirit and was a woman of strength. She will be missed for her radiant smile, and the way that she made a bad day good or a good day awesome. and her ability to remain positive in just about any situation. Carolyn, a lover of cooking, specializing in the best lemon pound cake, fried chicken and her famous pulled pork barbeque. She leaves to cherish her memory one loving son, Victor Holloway (Carmen); two grandchildren, Camille and Kyndall Holloway; father, Henry Holloway; sister, Doris Sneed; four brothers, James Sr. (Aritha) and Karl Baskerville, Roland (Donita) and Tony Holloway; two special long time family friends, Carlos Brown and his wife, Tamara; her caring Mt. Olive Baptist Church Family; a host of other relatives and friends.
