Carolyn Mosley Jones

After a long and difficult battle with Parkinson’s Disease, I, Carolyn Mosley Jones took my journey home “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: And not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing” 2 Timothy 4:7-8 I was born September 4, 1950 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Strother G. Mosley, Sr. I received my Academic Studies Diploma in 1970 from John F. Kennedy High School in Richmond. At the age of 12, I accepted Christ into my life and was baptized on June 13, 1663 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. After relocating to Charles City, VA, I moved my membership to Gilfield Baptist Church and remained there for many years. Renewal of faith, I joined New Light Baptist Church in Richmond, where I served as a greeter, made announcements, and served on the kitchen committee. During my early years I married Roland Jones in which we were blessed with two wonderful sons. While at home raising the boys I served on the Board of Directors for the Sandston Little League and the Babe Ruth Baseball Division. While the boys were in middle and high school I received the PTA Lifetime Membership Award for my accomplishments. I eventually returned to the workforce where I had the opportunity to meet and work with so many wonderful people. I feel blessed to have shared in the lives of so many people by giving support or just a smile to let someone know you care. I felt immensely blessed when I became a member of Body of Christ Church. The changes that would come next were overwhelming as I was led by the Holy Spirit, under the direction and guidance of Pastor Barbara Allen to become ordained as a Deacon in 2009. I leave to cherish my precious memories, my devoted husband, Roland Jones; two sons, Russell O. Jones and Talmom L. Jones (Amie); grandson, Martel Whitfield Jones; granddaughter, Averie Jones; great-grandson, Elijah Keith Robinson; brother, Strother G. Mosley, Jr. (Daphne); sister-in-law, Patricia Lewis (Poindexter); two nieces, Antoinette Allen (Bryant) and Elizabeth Wingfield; nephew, Robert Wingfield; two great-nieces, Summer Joy and Autumn Grace Allen, a loving aunt, Thelma Smith; special family and friends, Alton and Janet King and LaVerne Jones.
