Rev. Calvin Walters, Sr.

Calvin Walters, Sr. was born in Camden, NJ. On April 13, 1960 and was raised by his loving father the late Clarence Williams and his dedicated and devoted mother Pauline Williams. He attended Camden City Public Schools and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School also in Camden, NJ. Calvin received Christ at the age of 15 and joined Gist Liberty F.B. H. Church in Camden, NJ. Where Bishop H.L. Moses was the Pastor. He was a very active member of the congregation as he served on the usher board, Sunday school ministry, choir, deacon board, and was an ordained minister. On June 20, 1987, Calvin married Precious Faith Bethea Gibson and they moved to Richmond, VA where they were blessed with six talented children, Calvin, Scoonie, John, Josh, Jo-Jo and A.J. Calvin joined Solomon Temple F.B.H. Church of Richmond, VA and was a faithful member throughout the years. He served as assistant to the pastor, church board of directors member, Sunday school teacher, and kitchen staff. Calvin was truly a man of great character and loved the Lord with all his heart. His light for Jesus shined throughout all his professions as he worked in printing services as well as chief manager of banquets at the Sheraton park South Hotel in Richmond, VA. Calvin was first diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1996 and from that time forward he believed God for his healing. For many years Calvin encouraged others with his testimony of healing and how by Jesus stripes we are healed. Even as his condition became worst and others saw no hope, his faith in God never wavered. He continued to share his testimony of his healing with the body of Christ and shared with everyone that “God is able to carry you through!” Calvin believed God to the very end for his healing and has now received his complete healing in Christ. He departed from this life on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at home with his family. He leaves to carry on his legacy his loving and devoted wife, Precious, his children Calvin II, TeShaun, Johnathan, Joshua, Joel and Aaron. He also leaves his dedicated mother,Pauline Williams and brother,Pastor Ernest(Alethia)Walters,his mother-in-law,Bishop E. Moses,brother-in-law,Randy(Michele)Gibson and sister-in-law,Corinne Gibson. He also leaves to cherish his memory three aunts and two uncles,Mable Farmer,Barbara Walters,Lavina Stone,Joseph Walters(Joyce),and Benjamin Walters. Calvin was also the proud uncle of three nieces,Tina,Alisha and Victoria and three great nephews,Isaac,Isaiah and Zion. Calvin is loved and remembered by a host of cousins,relatives and friends.
