Calvin H. Brooks

On Thursday July 28, 2016, Calvin Henry Brooks was called to glory from Johns Hopkins Hospital Baltimore, Maryland at 11:12 P.M. Calvin H. Books was born on December 12, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland. As a child, he was a member of the The First Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and as a young adult he converted to the Catholic Religion. He then became a member o St. Gregory, The Great Catholic Church. Calvin graduated from Carver Vocational Technical High School, her in Baltimore City where he earned a diploma and certificate in Electrical Construction. As a teenager , he worked at WWIN radio station where he was known as boo-boo, under the mentorship of Al Jefferson. He worked as a master electrician and was the founder and CEO of Druid Electric Company Inc. Calvin continued in business and later retired as an electrician from the United States Pentagon. His craftsmanship still stands today. Every time someone views the night lights at Druid Hill Park, Stembridge Recreational Field in Essex Md,. Walks the halls of the main branch of the United States Post Office in Baltimore City, and travels along Martin Luther King Blvd, you should remember Calvin's legacy and hard work. One of his greatest achievements was receiving recognition from the city of Baltimore for his numerous works. An avid traveler and freemason, Calvin's passions for life included swimming, along with spending time with his family. He touched a lot of lives with his humor and generosity. Calvin was very giving, and always showed up for the people he loved and those he cared for most. Calvin leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Melinda Brooks, his daughter Taunja Patillo from from his first marriage, step daughters Sonia Byrd, and Selinda Shaw- Taylor, his parents Charles and Mildrede Brooks, his siblings Mildred (Trisha) Brooks, Darnella Lofton ( James) Charles Brooks Jr., (Jerrie), and grandson and grand- daughters India Satchell, Sophia Satchell, Nashell McCoy, William S. Patillo III, DaJuan X. Patillo, DaVaun T. Patillo, Dayona Lacey, and Paris Shaw- Taylor, and a host of other very special and close family members and friends
