Bruce Baker

BRUC EDWARD BAKER was born January 26, 1961, in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was the 6th child Hubert Baker, Jr and the late Eliza m. Baker. Bruce quietly passed away Friday, December 26, 2025. Bruce attended Baltimore City public schools and graduated with honors from Northern High School in 1979. He continued his education, earning a 1993 Diploma in Computer Technical Support from the Chubb Institute, Keystone School in Springfield, Pennsylvania; a 2002 Associate of Applied Science in Accounting from Baltimore City Community College; and a 2004 Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Baltimore, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. These accomplishments were sources of great honor for both Bruce and his family. With his degree in hand, he began a distinguished career with the department of Corrections as an Internal Auditor, where he served for 25 years and was recognized as Employee of the Year. Bruce professed Christ as his Lord and Savior and served faithfully at river of Life Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Denise Vance. In 2009, he was baptized, further deepening his spiritual walk. For a time, Bruce, alongside his late mother, led the church ‘s finance ministry, utilizing his expertise to serve the ministry. Known for his quiet, gentle spirit and soft-spoken nature, Bruce was a man of noble character and remarkable intelligence – his family often described him as both “Jeopardy smart and tech smart.’ He was generous, loving, and loving, and loyal, with a dry senor of humor that could bring laughter to any room. He loved his family deeply, often calling each of his siblings “his favorite’. Family gatherings wee his joy, and he could always be found where there was food, enjoying a good meal. Those gatherings will not be the same without him. Bruce is survived by his father, Hubert Baker Jr; three brothers, Andre “Butch” Jojnson, Larry Baker (Sabrina), and Ronnie Baker Sr. (Gwendolyn); three sisters, Sandra E. Baker, L. Denise Vance (Robert) and Tracy Baker; seven nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews; and one uncle, Tommie Baker of Richmond, Virginia. He also leaves behind a large extended family who will forever cherish his memory.
