Brenda Ward

BRENDA JOYCE WARD was born on March 14, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the youngest of four born to the late Oscar Reynolds and Janie Clemons. She departed this life on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was baptized as a child at Fountain Baptist Church. She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School system. She Attended Jane Adams High School where she was a member of The Business Ed club. It was during her high school years that Brenda met her future husband. The two were married on November 9, 1968. From the union, there were seven children, Kimberly, John Jr., Dominique, Sean, Cantrese, Christopher and Jason. Soon after the couple married, John joined the U. S. Army and the couple began their journey of traveling all over the world to places like Germany and France. Brenda truly enjoyed traveling with her family and looked forward to each new duty station. She would always collect a variety of mementos to remember the time spent in each part of the world. Brenda's favorite place the she visited was The Botanical Gardens at Heildburg Castle in Germany. This place was very special to her because it brought about her love of gardening. In 1983, John left the U.S. Army and the couple returned to their hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. While her husband pursued his career with the U.S. Postal Service, Brenda devoted her time to being a homemaker. She was the epitome of what a true homemaker was and can easily be compared to the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31. She strove to provide the best for her family and was always willing to go above and beyond the needs of her family and friends. Brenda, an avid reader and bowler, also enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking treats for her children. Brenda was often a very quite and reserved person but showed great strength even in the most difficult situations and trails. She leaves to mourn her passing: devoted husband, three daughters, four sons, son-in-law, Tyshawn Gibbons; eight grandchildren, Damian, Brian, Samara, Jordan, Kierra, Isaiah, Sean Jr. and Gabrielle; two sisters, Sandra Haskins and Alice Hatton; one brother, Robert Lee Clemons; and a host of other family members and dear friends.
