BONITA ROSALIND DAVIS-GOVANS began her earthly journey on February 8, 1958, born to the late Raymond Briggs and his beloved wife Geraldine Briggs. From the very beginning she was surrounded by family, love, and strong roots that shaped the remarkable woman she became. On January 14, 2026, She peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and connection that will live on through all who knew her. Raised with strong family values, Bonita treasured her childhood and the bonds she formed early in life. She took great pride in being a big sister, embracing that role with protectiveness, guidance, love; family meant everything to her, devotion to those she loved never wavered. Out of the deep love for family, Bonita became a devoted and loving mother to her two daughters, Lashae and Theresa. Her love for her girls knew no limits. She sacrificed selflessly, always placing their needs above her own, and poured her heart into raising them with strength, guidance, and unwavering support. Everything she did was rooted in love for her daughters, and she took immense pride in the women they became. Her bond with Lashae and Theresa was unbreakable and remained one of the greatest joys of her life. Bonita was also a loving and devoted wife who shared a deep and meaningful bond with her husband, Charles. Their marriage was filled with love, respect, laughter, and companionship. She spoke of him with pride and affection; she truly loved her some Charles. When her grandson Brian Jr. arrived in her life, he became her whole world. She loved him unconditionally and was immensely proud of him. Being a grandmother brought her pure joy, and the bond they shared was one of the greatest blessings of her life. Bonita received her education through the Baltimore City school system and proudly graduated from Western High School. She later attended Towson State University, continuing her education and preparing for a life rooted in service and purpose. Throughout her career, Bonita worked in customer service, a field perfectly suited to her warm and engaging spirit. She was a true people person, she had a rare and beautiful gift. She could befriend anyone, no matter what walk of life they came from. If you treated her with decency and respect, she returned it wholeheartedly. Her kindness, honesty, strength, and warmth left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Known for her feisty personality, Bonita was strong-willed, and full of spirit, never afraid to stand her ground or speak her truth. She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Briggs, grandmother Maggie Briggs, grandfather Robert Lee, grandmother Irma Lee, brother Myron Briggs, loving aunts Marleen Commodore and Gwendolyn Tubman, uncles Ronald Lee, Ernest Briggs, Albert Briggs Jr., cherished cousins Robert Lee, Stephanie Briggs, Diane Henly, Chandrise Scott, Junie, and beloved sister-friend Ladetra Worshim. Bonita will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, her feisty spirit, her fairness, and her unwavering devotion to her family and her friends. Though she is not in body, her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
