Arshell Bailey

Arshell “Shelly” Bailey, returned home to her Heavenly Father on November 14, 2014. Shelly was born on January 18, 1962 in Richmond, VA to Aubrey Bailey II and Delores Bailey. Shelly spent most of her childhood growing up on Richmond Northside, where she attended and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. During her time at Thomas Jefferson, Shelly met many lifelong friends that she remained close with over the years. Beauty, as described by English Romanticism Poet John Keats is “A joy forever; its loveliness increases; it will never pass”. Remembrance of Shelly’s internal and external beauty will be held by all who knew her. With a smile that could light up a room, Shelly had a way of making everyone feel like family. Whether it was the love you felt when eating her exquisite food or the comfort you felt with her quote to remedy all things “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus”, her welcoming spirit was undeniable. Shelly was a true Visionary! Her high energy and love for business awarded her many successes over the years. Her accomplishments included ownership of a successful beauty salon & barber shop,a corporate career in marketing and sales ,managing a band of musicians,and her most cherished accomplishment,fulfillment in raising thriving children,as a single mother. In addition to her many accomplishments in her professional life. Shelly was also known for her humanitarianism. She frequented as a guest speaker at many schools,while also serving as a Mentor to many young adults. The Holiday Season was a very special time for Shelly. She enjoyed being around her family and friends,while preparing meals that had everyone migrating towards her home. Most of all,she enjoyed the gift of giving selflessly. During this holiday season she would want us all to remember to love one another and live to the fullest, as ordered in the word of our Lord and Savior Shelly is preceded in death by her father,aubrey Baily,II and her daughter Ashanti"Kiki" Bailey. She is survived by her children,Rikki Hightower(husband Tim),Diamonte Bailey,Bianca Carpenter(husband D'Andre),grandchildren,Sir Lennox Hightower,Taylor Tinsley,Andrea Carpenter and Emory Carpenter;mother,Delores Bailey;grandmother,Phyllis Friend,brother,Aubrey"GG" Bailey,III(wife Kim);aunt(Felissa)uncles(Joseph,Ronald and Westly,Jr.),nieces and nephews,Jaime Griffin,Kamryn Bailey,Byrce Bailey,"sister"Lele,beloved friend Andre Smith,and a host of other family ,close friends and loved ones.
